I ordered the traditional surf n’ turf medium rare. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly, and melted in my mouth like butter. The lobster was delicious, and so were the mashed potatoes. The dining room is beautifully decorated. Despite a packed room the atmosphere was quiet and made room for great conversation. Portions were very generous and well worth the price. If I’m looking to hold another special occasion I will certainly be returning.

I want to give a zero star review for one reason.
The food was excellent.
The staff was kind and courteous although the waiter forgot my Italian wedding soup.

Here’s the negative. I wasn’t at my best and couldn’t finish my gnocchi. I was looking forward to the leftovers. Everything was there except the Italian bread! We had 3 wonderful slices left, perfect for my wife and me to eat while having those leftovers. NO! They didn’t put them in. Ugh!

We had our annual formal gathering of the Great Eastern Balloon Association at this catering hall. They reset the room from the previous group rapidly and perfectly. The food may have been the reason we used this venue. At the end they helped us clear out without any aspect of chasing us. I wasn’t involved in booking, so I have no idea as to costs. Nice place. I won’t be disappointed at all if GEBA goes there again.

The place is ok, nice and clean. Staff is friendly. Although chewing gum while you serve food is not normally seen. The food service a bit awkward making people like up all at once, they should call up one table at time. Food was okay.

The Mountain View Chalet is a fabulous restaurant easily accessible at the Pattenburg exit of Interstate Route 78. I have been here numerous times over the years and can honestly say that I have never had a bad meal. I have dined here by myself numerous times and have also been here several times with a group for special occasions and the Holidays. Every dish is expertly prepared and wonderfully presented – piping hot and delicious. The wait staff is always very pleasant and very accommodating. I feel very relaxed and like I am at home when I am here. I like to start my meal with a shrimp cocktail. There are several favorite meals on the menu that I always thoroughly enjoy. I highly recommend the veal marsala. It is always very tender and delicious. Also, don’t forget to indulge yourself with their delicious homemade deserts. Their cakes are out of this world and always a delight. I introduced my oldest niece and her husband to The Mountain View Chalet; and although they live 40 miles away, it quickly became their favorite restaurant! Yes, it is that good!!

Attended a wedding celebration here, it was beautiful inside and the food was good. The bread was so incredible it might have been the best part of the meal. Not sure why Google thinks this is a hotel but it definitely is not. No bedrooms here just dining, bar and restrooms

Food is very good. Had the salmon and steak and they didn’t disappoint. The calamari was awesome. Bread is warm. Limited coffee options eg no espresso and limited desserts. Service is ok. If you’re focus is the quality of the dishes then you’ll definitely enjoy this place. Wife enjoyed jelly rancher sangria.

We visited the Mountain View Chalet on Saturday night for the first time and it was wonderful. The food was outstanding, as was the relaxed atmosphere and the fantastic service by our server Manny. We enjoyed the bruschetta and Thai spring rolls appetizers, salads, and the entrees, which included the Surf and Turf, Center Cut Filet Mignon, and Chicken Parmigiana. Also the delicious chocolate mousse cake and coffee at the end. It was altogether a great evening and we will definitely be returning in the future.
