Stopped here while doing a bike tour across the coast. Didn’t realize that they were closed on Tuesdays for cleaning, however the owner stopped mid deep clean and insisted that it wouldn’t be a problem to fix me something to eat.
Had the pulled pork sandwich and the meat was perfectly cooked and the fat was visible but had the softest texture and was cooked down completely. The two sauces included a tangy sweet barbeque and a yellow mustard based sweet sauce. Mixed them on owners recommendations and it blew my mind. Best pulled pork I’ve had since Memphis.
The included slaw was creamy and incredible, perfectly complimented the pork sandwich and was hands down the best I’ve had.
While cooking, I got to chat with the owner and his demeanor and attitude was outstanding. I can’t rave on enough about this perfectly hidden gem by the beach.
Price for a sandwich and slaw was $9.63 and I would have gladly paid $20 for such a great treat!
Spent 15 years in kitchens from steak houses to Italian fine dining and the flavor and atmosphere here were better than anything I’ve ever tasted. You can tell that this guy loves his Job and it shows in every bite you take.
