Came here with friend. Treated them to west African food for their birthday. We arrived around 730 which was right on time. After we ordered our food on the kiosk and set down a big crowd came in. So many people came to order food before the night was out. The food was delicious. The white suya sauce was good with hot drumsticks. I was super impressed with the food. Even my friend. I also had cornbread with my meal and the corn bread was delicious too.
Both of our food together was about 40 to 45 dollars. Very reasonable.
When you dine in. Your food does come on a sturdy paper plate. Felt authentic and home vibes.
You can see the food being prepared which I love so much.
Unsure if they have a restroom for the public.

I’ve been seeing this on tiktok for the past 2 weeks and decided lastnight to try.
When I came in I had to greet the lady working. Didn’t like that, I’m coming in to spend my money. Welcome would’ve been nice! She didn’t even ask could she take my order. My husband and I seen a kiosk and placed our order. The food was a 6/10.
Jollof rice was flavorless, steak was chewy and had fat/Gristle on each piece.
The salad that came with it was good along with the plantains. The potato greens were watery and ok. Overall I love supporting my people businesses but I probably won’t be back. Respectfully

I ordered online, and my food arrived fresh and hot, which I really appreciated.
I tried the Beef Suya (spicy) platter with plantain, cabbage, onion, and jollof rice. The jollof rice was definitely the best part it was flavorful and perfectly cooked. The beef Suya was tender with a nice texture and good spice, though I found it a bit too salty. I have a high spice tolerance, but even for me the heat built up and made it tough to finish, so I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone sensitive to spice.
Portion-wise, I wish there had been more plantain and onion, as the serving felt small compared to the generous amount of rice.
I also ordered a chicken Suya leg on the side, and in my opinion, the chicken Suya was much better than the beef.

Located in northern liberties, so parking can be a challenge. I wanted to like this food. The price isn’t awful, but it’s not the great either. I paid about $15 for the steak bowl with jollof and plantain, and then another $4 for a meat pie. Everything was lackluster. The meat pie ingredients tasted muddled, I did enjoy the crust tho. The jollof rice flavor was mild, I wish it stood out more… as in more tomato taste, more richness… anything to resemble Nigerian jollof. The steak suya was fine… it was a bit tough, and majority of the flavor came from the sprinkled suya spice over top. The plantain was light skin and hard and they weren’t very sweet. I’ve been meaning to try the restaurant and I finally did. I’m not impressed.

This African spot is amazing! Definitely try the Suya bowl because it’s a great deal and packed with flavor. Some of the dishes were spicy even at the lowest spice level, so watch out if you’re not big on heat. You HAVE to get the cornbread as a side. It’s seriously so good. Loved everything about this place and will definitely be back. Seems like it’s easier to dine in and let the food come out when it ready instead of ordering online.

This food is like, heaven to me! An old friend introduced it to me… It’s honestly the best food I’ve ever eaten before. The food tastes like it was made with love and care. Also, the customer service was incredible! They’re extremely friendly and helpful! PLEASE PLEASE — add additional fans or AC units for the employees. I was waiting for my food and I was sweating so much, I could only imagine what the employees must feel being.

Suya suya is literally my favorite place to eat in the fishtown/northern liberties area. I come here almost everyday after work and the food here is amazing. It reminds me of Nigeria. The atmosphere is amazing and the food is the best. My favorite dish is definitely the egusi and rice combo. Garba the manager is very welcoming and friendly. I feel like a part of the family every time I come here. If you are looking for a good place to eat and want great African food this is the place to be.

I came about an hour before closing and ordered a shrimp suya bowl with a side of plantain and broccoli. While I loved the rice and the white sauce, the broccoli and shrimp were almost inedible. The broccoli tasted really old and mushy, and it was really over seasoned. The shrimp was cooked well but it was also heavily over seasoned so I couldn’t really enjoy it. I’d try this place again earlier in the day, maybe the quality would be better, but only the jollof rice was really up to my expectations (I’m West African)

Had food delivery from Suya Suya bases on very good ratings from others. So wake up call, because people don’t know what good food is apparently. This food was terrible; where do I start? Dry, dry meats. Overly spicy. Could tell the meats were bad, low quality beef and chicken. For example, the beef was very chewy and some pieces I couldn’t chew and ended up pulling out of mouth and onto the plate. I only ate some of this food because I was really hungry, I ended up throwing out a good portion of it. The only decent thing was the rice with a tomato-based sauce and I mixed it with some fresh cruciferous vegetables (cabbage salad?) that it came with. I would not recommend getting food from here, and of not already obvious I will not patronize this restaurant again. There so many other good international food places in Philly to have a really memorable meal. This one, Suya Suya, is a hard pass.
