Reviews
A pleasant atmosphere, kind staff and good food.
I got on with the alcohol pretty fast, but the waitress was very pleasant, convincing and funny.
The food was unique to the area, delicious and fulfilling, one plate is enough for 2 people possibly three depending on your appetite.
The price, well it ain’t McDonald’s but also ain’t Chris Ruth’s, it’s a bit spendy I would expect pay between 50 and 60 per person plus tip (their service was excellent, better than I’ve gotten any where else).
All in all, it’s 5 stars for me.
First off I can’t imagine any of the reviews on here are legit.
This place is quite pricey, I mentioned it to the waiter as we were on the edge of leaving and they assured us prices are high because the quality of food they make and that it’s worth it so we decided to give it a try.. we’ll That in fact is not the case in my opinion or any of the people I was with.
Chips and salsa was good not enough for the size table we had kinda silly to have 6 people and share one little bowl of salsa.
Portions are extremely small for the price ($18 for a small asada burrito)and the food is insanely blan and lacking any amount of flavor, I took a picture of my chicken burrito for reference of the size but one other at the table got the asada burrito and it was the exact same size as well and no I do not have giant hands to make the burrito look smaller then it is..
FYI the Prices in the menu do not reflect what they charge you. You need to add roughly .50 to $1 to and that’s what you will get on the bill it caught me off guard and even though it’s not a lot, they had conflicting answers as to why but weren’t really sure.
I’ll stick to some of the other Mexican restaurants around.

Uhmm…..I didn’t know octopus is pricey.
The location of this place is the former location of Qwik Wok, so don’t get confused.
The opening of this place feels so unannounced. A member of Boise Food Finds has to tell me about it. El Guero Meridian still has no Google Maps entry.
The octopus is priced at a premium. This something I’m not aware of. I thought it’s like a crawfish where a lot of people tend to ignore, making it cheaper than shrimp.
But if crawfish is like a poor man’s lobster, octopus is basically a rich man’s squid.
The taste of this dish (called La Medusa) has a pronounced….lime component to it. Actually, very pronounced for my personal liking. You’ll need rice to balance the flavor out, if your flavor profile is very Asian.
The fried rice they serve, is actually quite good. Better than your typical orange-ish Mexican rice. It works well with the octopus. Serving size isn’t huge like what you’ll find in Asian places but it’s not expensive. You can order 2-3 servings, and your budget is still fine.
The tamarind drink I ordered is more diluted than what you’ll expect from a tamarind juice but I’m fine with it. Tamarind can be so sweet to begin with.
Bottom line, Octopus is something that you should try at least once in your life. Not too drastically different from squid, but this is me saying something like you should try lobster at least once in your life, even if it’s not that different from shrimp. That kind of analogy.
Definitely, I’ll be back, but next time, I’ll try something that won’t surprise my wallet. Lol!
10/10
Lety and Maria were such a breath of fresh air, the service they provided was sensational.
I will be dreaming of this place till I’m no longer full and can come back to eat more.
