It all began in 1993, when two local boys in Gulf Shores, Alabama decided to open up a casual family-focused seafood restaurant on the Gulf Coast. The idea was to create a restaurant where people would feel welcome to be themselves, families could afford to dine out together and strangers would leave as friends. Coastal vacationers demanded that Shrimp Basket expand to provide this incredible seafood value to those unable to be at the beach year round. Today, we’re happy to offer locations across the Southeast for family and friends to feel a part of the beach, dine and enjoy delicious seafood! At the Shrimp Basket, our goal is to make sure that you – our friends – leave happy and satisfied after every visit.

If you’re craving fresh, flavorful seafood, casual dining, Shrimp and Seafood Basket definitely delivers! From the first bite to the last, everything was spot on. The seafood gumbo was rich and tasty with just the right balance of seasoning. The oysters were absolutely delicious — fresh, briny, and perfectly paired with sharp, fresh horseradish that added just the right kick.
The shrimp basket itself was scrumptious — crispy, golden, and cooked to perfection.
What truly made the experience even better was our server, Selecia. She was an absolute delight and provided excellent service from the very beginning of our dining experience all the way through to the end. Attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming — she made us feel well taken care of.

If you’re wanting a quick seafood pit stop after a day on the beach this is a great spot. From the outside, we thought it would be an order at the counter type place, but it was a sit down restaurant with a down home local vibe. We had Ms. Tina, who was the best! She made us feel right at home and let us know about their specials, including a great $12 meal deal that includes a drink, appetizer, and baskets with options for upgrades. We went with the gulf shrimp basket and fried grouper sandwich upgrades (+$5 each). We also ordered the fried pickles and a half dozen hush puppies. The inside isn’t too fancy, but the food was great and the service and friendliness was exceptional. Definitely recommend when you’re craving some fried gulf shrimp.

Wow. We ate twice at the shrimp basket in Destin, and it was amazing. The food is simply delicious. The seafood was fresh, and whether it was fried or grilled, the flavor and cook was 5 stars.
We had the gumbo, the grilled platter, grouper sandwich, and the seafood platter in our two visits. Shrimp, fish, and crab cake were the best I’ve had along the gulf. I wish we had this place back home.
The service was 5 stars. Both times the waitresses were just amazing people. Between them and the food it’s a 10/10.

CJ was an amazing server! From the moment we sat down, he was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. He checked on us often, kept our drinks refilled, and made great recommendations from the menu. His positive attitude and great customer service really made our dining experience even better. You can tell he genuinely cares about the guests and takes pride in his work. If you visit Shrimp Basket, definitely ask for CJ — he’ll make sure you’re well taken care of!

Husband had seafood platter… he is said it was really good and a lot…. My small salad was very small and basic and 10.00 less than what he paid… that was the only complaint though…

First time here the fried seafood plate was good it came with several different shrimps and fishes. Came out hot this place was packed when we arrived seated quickly. We also ordered the blacked seafood plate add 2 items the flounder has a fishy taste to me it was better fried. Good seafood place on the strip
