This was the first “mexican” restaurant I had been to since moving to Southern Illinois from California. Not trying to sound like a snob but I grew up eating authentic mexican food and authentic food does not use fake cheese sauce in Chile rellenos. So needless to say when I took a bite of my food and got that disgusting fake cheese in my mouth, that was the end of my meal. Gross

The top shelf margarita is really good. The complementary chips are good but the salsa not so much. I asked for a hot salsa which was much better but thin. The beef was cooked to my requested temperature and flavor was excellent. Ambiance is nice and service staff was attentive.

Nice little restaurant with a bar. Spent 42$ on 2 drinks and a meal. Im sorry but thats too expensive for what we got. Both drinks were not what we where expecting and couldve tasted better. The service took a while, and they need to update the cash register that thing is so old its probably got dust older then me. I hope the servers are paid good when you charge that much. Probably wont be back anytime soon.

I don’t know why I had semi decent hopes for this place. My girlfriend and her family said I would enjoy it and said the food was good. It was anything but. The Steak Tequila, a ribeye, was a poorly cut piece of beef that I wouldn’t even feed my dogs. It had a thick piece of fat and gristle right down the middle with small portions of edible “steak” on either side. Not what a ribeye steak cut should have looked like. The server didn’t seem to understand that I was displeased with the poor quality of food and neither did the host, who I also believe sneakily still charged me for the meal, even tho I took two bites and then pushed it off the side and explained i didn’t want to pay for something I didn’t eat. Avoid if you’re just passing through, McDonald’s is right around the corner and is probably tastier than this place.
