Deck Down Under in Port Orange is hands down one of my favorite seafood restaurants in the area. The food here consistently delivers, and this visit was no exception.

I ordered the Maui with fries and hush puppies, along with some peel and eat shrimp. Everything was fantastic – the flavors were on point, the seafood was fresh, cooked to prefection, and the sides were perfectly prepared. It’s the kind of meal that keeps me coming back time and time again.

The only thing to note is that wait times can vary significantly. This trip, it took about 15 minutes to order, which was great. However, I’ve been here on busier days when the wait can stretch over an hour. If you’re planning to visit during peak times, just be prepared for a potential wait – but in my opinion, the food is absolutely worth it.

I’ll definitely keep coming back to Deck Down Under whenever I’m craving quality seafood in Port Orange. Highly recommended!

Wow! What a cool place! Under the bridge, lots of parking, VW car show was there, great shrimp and burger. In fact, if you spend $25 on your meal and.pay in cash, you get a 1/2 lb of steamed shrimp for free! I forgot to take a pic of my burger, but it was very good! The View of the intercostal and the sunset was an extra plus. Great family place too.

Highly recommended place to eat from other locals. Wonderful patio to sit in the sun, enjoy a drink, and eat some seafood. You stand in line to order then grab a table which was different but moved rather quickly. The crab salad appetizer was the best part!

This place is really great. It’s water front dining and they have a ton of out door seating. This time I had shrimp and grits. The flavor was absolutely amazing. I had a great view of the sunset from my waterside seat. For whatever reason the server was grouchy. I guess she needed a hug. Anyway, I’ll be back again.

Fantastic restaurant! Food had by all (6 adults) was phenomenal. Pictured are a few dishes. Hush puppies were amazing and would recommend them as an appetizer. Highly recommend stopping here!

We decided to come here for dinner based on all of the amazing reviews. Our server was nice but a bit sparse. We started off with the flounder strips. They were overcooked and chewy. The server did make that right by taking it off our bill. We did not ask her to do that. I ordered the crab cakes, you get three and the server warned me it is mostly filler with little crab meat. I appreciated that info. It was still pretty good. I ordered the wild rice which was very bland. Was not impressed with that. My husband ordered the surf and turf which was ribs and fried shrimp with fries. The ribs had decent flavor but tasted microwaved. The shrimp was so over cooked it almost looked burnt. Which also made it chewy. The best thing about this plate was the fries. We are so disappointed with this experience. I’m hoping the cook was just having a bad day. The sunset on the water was spectacular.

I had the crab cakes and peel n eat shrimp. I wish they served the crab cakes fried instead of grilled. I prefer them crunchy. The menu is specific, grilled only. Good flavor but a little mushy for me.

This place is fine tuned. The staff work together in a manner that is truly a teams effort. If that wasn’t enough, the food was equally as tasty as the customer service.

If you have a party, or need a date night. This is the place to go!!

BTW if you love blue cheese… You must try their blue cheese. Even if you aren’t eating it with you entree. Thank me later! 🙂

Beautiful atmosphere and an incredible view. Unfortunately, the food did not match the setting. The fried oyster sandwich had an unusual slimy, overly fishy texture, and the blackened shrimp were very overcooked. Coming from a seafood community, we’re familiar with what fresh seafood should be like, and after a few bites we did not feel comfortable continuing the meal due to concerns about quality and food safety.

This restaurant is great. There are excellent views from most areas outside and plenty of seating. The servers are excellent and extremely attentive. We ordered the fried shrimp dinner with hush puppies and fries. The shrimp was fairly priced for the amount we received and the fries were also very good. Our reasons behind rating 4/5 stars are: we love hush puppies and although the texture was spot on, they lacked in the corn flavor we’re accustomed to (we went there because of the excellent reviews mentioning how delicious their hush puppies were). The other reason is that they do not have fountain sodas. In this heat, we typically could drink 3 refills, which at $4 a bottle would have added $24 extra dollars to our bill (with children, that would also add up). Overall, we’d suggest this restaurant! Sorry, pic of food is half eaten…we were hungry.
