This Italian restaurant is a great option, especially considering the value for the price. The prices are very reasonable and, overall, the food is good.
Some dishes truly stand out especially the pasta, which is delicious and very well prepared. There are a few items that are good but not as memorable, but for the most part, the experience is very positive.
One thing I really appreciate is that every main dish comes with a salad and a complimentary dessert. That detail definitely makes a difference and adds great value to the overall experience.
The atmosphere is beautiful, with a rustic yet elegant style that feels warm and inviting.

The Old Spaghetti Factory – Gastown branch feels like home to me, and it always serves my ultimate comfort food. My husband and I dined here a couple of days ago for a date, and the entire experience was absolutely wonderful. My husband truly enjoyed every moment we spent there.
A special shoutout to my favorite server, Val, who is incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and brings such great energy. Also, a special mention to Kyle, who went above and beyond to provide us with top-notch service.

Tried this place for the first time and had mixed feelings overall. The ambiance was definitely unique and different from what I expected, though there was a noticeable smell that felt a bit off and took some getting used to. On a positive note, the service really stood out, the server was incredibly friendly, welcoming and attentive, which made the experience more pleasant. As for the food, it was okay but didn’t quite hit the mark for me. The dishes were presented well, but the flavours were very mild and leaned on the bland side, lacking the depth or seasoning I was hoping for. It wasn’t bad, just underwhelming. Overall, I’d say the service was the highlight of the visit, while the food and ambiance have room for improvement.

We loved this so much!! The food was amazing and it came so quickly! We were served by Rebecca and she was so lovely. We loved The old spaghetti factory so much that we even went to it in all the different places we went to around Canada. The french onion soup was delicious and so were the garlic and cheese starter. I loved the complimentary bread and the garlic butter. Everything was amazing.

Timeless Classic in Gastown!
It was wonderful to return to the Old Spaghetti Factory after nearly 20 years and find that its charm remains intact. My companion, Marlene, called it “the busiest restaurant I have been in,” which speaks to its enduring popularity!
The service was excellent and the food was reliably delicious. I chose the Seafood Alfredo Linguine, and it was perfect. I also enjoyed a glass of the “Two Oceans” South African Chardonnay.
The energy was infectious—lots of young, efficient staff serving many happy people and groups. Even arriving early around 5:30 PM on October 18, 2025, the huge dining room was already buzzing. A perfect evening in Gastown!

I’m honestly surprised I hadn’t come here sooner.
The place has such a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with very friendly staff.
Everyone was incredibly kind.
As for the food, it speaks for itself — the soup, salad, and bread we were served upon arrival tasted heavenly

What a great value! Went to dinner here on our first trip to Vancouver (have been to the Toronto location once many years ago). I love that all the entrees include bread, soup or salad, ice cream, and tea or coffee. The portions are filling and generous. The atmosphere is delightfully kitschy and even has the old streetcar inside. It was a great place for dinner and to watch the Jays game. I had the spaghetti pot-pourri with three different sauces ($18.25) and my husband had the pesto linguini with chicken ($19.25). A 3-course meal for under $20 each in Gastown is a great value! I just wish they had the same prices in Toronto as the costs are higher there. Bonus for those who like the paranormal, this location is supposedly haunted with no less than 4 different ghosts (including one in the streetcar and one in the women’s bathroom) – Google it! Five stars for value.

She honestly made our trip to Vancouver and this restaurant so lovely!
