We’ve been to this restaurant more than once, and it was a pleasant surprise to see how much the food has improved compared to last year. The quality and flavors are noticeably better, and it’s clear the kitchen has really stepped up. The service overall is great, and the atmosphere is warm and enjoyable.

One small suggestion: it would be nice if the hostesses and front desk staff at the entrance were a bit more welcoming. At times, it feels less like being greeted as a guest and more like interrupting someone, which slightly affects the first impression. A friendlier approach would make the experience even better.

Overall, the restaurant has definitely improved, and we’re happy to keep coming back.

I went to Gianni’s for lunch. I recommend a reservation. You won’t get offered the best tables, even if they are vacant, and they tell you they are for hotel guests. They did move me to a corner close to the beautiful pool.

The mansion is absolutely beautiful. The mosaic tile in the pool is colorful and unique. Lots of plants and greenery.
It’s very charming and beautifully decorated.
The lunch was good. I left the burrata salad and asked for some lemon vinaigrette on the side. It was a delicious lunch.
Know that they charged me a $7.50 service charge, so lunch ended up costing me more than expected. I guess this service charge is a thing in Miami Beach.
I went there for the experience and the atmosphere, and of course for the history.
The service was good.
I went around opening time when it wasn’t so busy. Nearly every table was filled by the time I left. It is a popular place.
The bread was absolutely delicious. So good. No butter, but I dipped it in olive oil with salt and pepper.
It was worth the experience.
Lunch was about $60/ person with fees and gratuity.

We had a reservation, but they still made us wait a few minutes before seating us. Not the end of the world, but still. Once inside, the place feels more like a photo-op than an actual restaurant. It’s pretty, very “Versace,” but the whole experience leans heavily on the aesthetic more than the food.

They brought us the complimentary bread, and honestly, it was terrible, chewy and almost impossible to eat. I’ve never left the bread untouched at any restaurant, but this one was just not good.

We ordered a Hugo Spritz, an Apple Spritz, and a mojito. They were fine, pretty simple drinks, just overloaded with mint to make them look fancier. When we asked our waiter for suggestions, he didn’t really know what to recommend. We got the fried calamari, and when we asked about the oysters, he didn’t even know what sauces they came with or what was in them. For a place that gets so many visitors, that was surprising.

For the mains, my parents ordered two chicken dishes and I got the ravioli. The ravioli were good, maybe an 8/10. The chicken was also good, just way too much food for three people. It would’ve helped if the waiter had mentioned the portions, because it ended up feeling wasteful.

Overall, the place is beautiful and definitely a “Miami moment,” but the service and food training need improvement — and they should really fix that bread.

What a place! Usually when you visit this kind of restaurants you expect a nice view and a good attention but Giannis was beyond my expectations. We tried the Cacio e Pepe, the ravioli, the salmon and everything was so savory and good portioned. My recommendation is to also try the carpaccio (chef kiss) and the Passion in the Mansion cocktail totally worth it.

And I should mention, the place is beautiful and the team is fantastic! All the waiters were so attentive and they brought us a decorated mille feuille cake for our friend’s birthday making our dinner even more special! Hope we get back soon to try more food and cocktails! ⭐️

It took me too long to get to this restaurant over the years I’ve been wanting to go finally made it. We were in Miami for a show at the colony theater so we decided to go unfortunately, I did not have reservations, which I highly recommend but lucky for us. We sat at the bar and couldn’t have been nicer. The bartenders all were accommodating, helpful, and we still had the atmosphere of the beautiful pool. We had the lunch $39.95 great value. There was four of us. I had the Bronzino the chicken entrée. We all enjoyed every morsel of those entrées. We also had an appetizer I had the artichoke salad. We had the eggplant Parmesan and we had the house salad again no complaints. Finally, we had the dessert. The mango sorbet was delicious as was the brownie as the fresh fruit. We were really happy customers and happy that we came there next time I’m planning to make reservations. I didn’t because I wasn’t sure how long the drive would take, but I wouldn’t go to this restaurant without reservations unless you wanna eat at the bar which is no Problem

Gianni’s is a unique and must visit restaurant in Miami, it gets a huge boost by being in the former Versace Mansion. The architecture, design and history alone are worth a visit. Add to that a great culinary experience, and great service. It is without a doubt a recommended spot for any tourist and locals. I particularly enjoyed the Sea bass and the Black truffle risotto, which was perfectly al dente, and it is probably the best I have tried in town. Not everything in the menu is just as stunning, but the quality is definitely there! Expect a traditional service with well trained staff, and great management too! Be aware if you dine at the main room by the pool in the summer it can be extremely humid and hot!

We dined at Gianni at the former Versace Mansion, and unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing.

Food quality was very poor.
We ordered mussels in tomato sauce, which is supposed to be a hot appetizer. They were served cold, and the so-called sauce was nothing more than mussels sitting in thick tomato paste — no balance, no flavor.

The eggplant parmigiana was completely bland and lacked any depth or seasoning.

The worst dish of the night was the branzino. It was cold, dry, and clearly overcooked — easily the worst branzino we have ever had.

Service was equally unacceptable.
Despite clearly telling the waitress not to bring all dishes at once, the starters and entrées arrived almost at the same time, with only a 3–4 minute gap between them. This ruined the pacing of the meal and showed a lack of care or attention.

The attitude of the staff was unwelcoming, and the overall service felt rushed and poorly managed.

On top of that, there is a mandatory service charge of nearly 25%, regardless of the quality of food or service. For an experience like this, I would not willingly pay a single penny in tip. A compulsory charge at this level feels completely unjustified.

Another uncomfortable detail: while we were at the bar waiting for our table, our credit card was held and not returned until we left the bar area, which felt inappropriate and unprofessional.

Conclusion:
I do not recommend this place for food or service. However, if your goal is simply to see the iconic Versace Mansion, make a reservation and have one drink only — nothing more.

A beautiful restaurant located in the former Versace mansion on Ocean Drive in Miami Beach. One of the few ways to get into the former Versace mansion if you want to see it. The food was really good and way exceeded my expectations for a tourist location. Service was excellent, as to be expected in a high end restaurant. The decor and location is beautiful, especially if you get seated by the pool. It is a bit pricey, but worth the experience. Parking can be an adventure on Miami Beach, but not too bad in the evenings.

It was absolutely beautiful and our waiter, Alfonso, was nothing short of accommodating, understanding, very knowledgeable in the menu and helped us with our selections of food and drinks. The food was impeccably seasoned. The drinks were well balanced, and very tasty. I had an amazing birthday and would definitely recommend others to go as well as my willingness to go again and bring more persons to experience the beautiful ambience and aura it represents. They do have a dress code that they text you about when you make reservations, but I will say if you were stilettos on the day of your reservation, the pebbles on the floor kinda make it a little difficult to walk, let alone quickly, so I would say a nice wedge heel would do.
