Quan Nem Vietnamese Restaurant was recommended to us by a local friend, so we decided to give it a try. I’ll admit, I usually stay away from “CNN-recommended” restaurants… they often scream tourist trap. I mean, what would CNN (or Americans in general ) really know about authentic Vietnamese food?
Happily, this place proved me very wrong.
The menu is refreshingly simple: just bún chả and crab spring rolls. We ordered one of each and both were excellent. The crab spring rolls were so good we immediately ordered a second portion. Everything was flavorful, well balanced, and clearly made with care.
Service was fast and efficient… all the food arrived within 15–20 minutes max. With drinks included, the total bill came in well below 350,000 VND for two, which is fantastic value for the quality.
Simple menu, great execution, fair pricing. We’ll definitely be back.

Def not the world best (or even one of the best) spring roll as CNN claimed more than 10 years ago.
However, their dipping sauce of the Bun Cha is really good, well balanced. I would prefer the more common marinated grill pork chop than the thinly sliced pork belly (which they call is bacon?!). Nonetheless, still a satisfying meal.

Definitely can tell that locals like this place. The staff and local customers tend to shout at each other loudly, making the atmosphere very loud and chaotic.
Service staff were overwhelmed and couldn’t really attend to many customers promptly.
The food was not fantastic, would recommend other buncha places instead. The crab roll was also bland and dry recommended to dip in the Buncha sauce for more flavour.

The best Bun Cha I’ve ever had – much prefer this than Hanoi branch because flavour is less sweet.
Highly recommend to try both the pork and also crab meat spring roll. They are very fresh and serve over hot plates which keep the food hot and fresh all time

Fantastic Vietnamese bún chả and nem cua bể with authentic, well-balanced flavors — truly captures traditional Vietnamese taste. The food was great. My wife and I shared a big crab spring roll and two nem orders w meatballs and bacon. Mmmm. The greens were fresh, the sauce yummy and the meatballs delectable. But it is crazy busy in there. Great service, no wait but as noisy and hectic as Ho Chi Minh city itself!

Great bún chả! I loved that the charcoal grill kept the meat hot the whole time. The crab spring rolls were the highlight, super crispy and packed with crab meat. I went around 2 pm so there was no queue, though it still took about 20 minutes for the food. Definitely coming back.

The meats are not too dry and the noodles go so well with the sauce. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Reasonable price too. Many locals dine here too!
