Jebudo, located at 4th and Western in Koreatown, is a great spot to enjoy authentic Korean-style charcoal-grilled shellfish. They open at 11 AM, and the lunch specials offer a variety of dishes at reasonable prices. I’ve heard their grilled eel and marinated crab are also excellent.
The assorted shellfish platter requires a minimum of two orders, but it’s worth it — you can taste a wide selection of fresh, live clams and shellfish. Watching them open and cook over the charcoal fire adds to the fun of the meal. The platter also comes with small octopus, shrimp, and fish, all grilled directly over the flame for extra flavor.
There are several Korean-style shellfish barbecue spots in LA, but Jebudo is one of the places where longtime immigrants can relive the classic tastes of Korea. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience traditional Korean shellfish BBQ in Los Angeles.

Jae Bu Do’s grilled shellfish is an absolute feast for the taste buds! The fresh seafood sizzles on the charcoal fire, emitting an enticing aroma. Each shellfish is plump and juicy, with a sweet and fresh taste. Especially when dipped in their special sauce, the flavor is elevated to a new level. Whether it’s clams, scallops, or sea snails, everything is grilled to perfection, preserving the original taste of the seafood. If you’re a seafood lover, you definitely can’t miss this place!

Very legit Korean charcoal seafood BBQ. They cook for you too. Very well priced for the amount of food. Rough $80 per person, depending on how much food you could handle. I walked out very full and happy.
Parking is not free, but I guess that’s how LA operates.
For the brave ones, try the lobster

Honestly had one of the best meals of my life here. The servers knew we weren’t familiar with all the types of fish, so they kept an eye on our grill and signaled to us when it was ready. Everything was incredibly fresh and high quality. There was so much food and the sauces were delicious.

The best charcoal seafood grill I’ve ever had in my life.
Everything is always fresh and delicious whenever I visit LA from Vegas.
All the waiters and the owner (the auntie) are very nice. My wife and I always order Combo B.

We went when they forst opened and were the only customers there. Which is so rare, usually there is a long line. We got the combo for 2. My parents was not a fan of the cold salad since they don’t eat raw fish, but it was refreshing to me. Everything was fresh and delicious. I love the grilled fish, my father liked that they grilled it and served ito him. He loves seafood and this was good. He only wish that he had jeow som, since the sauces were not as spicy as he would like. My mother and I agree, jeow som aka Lao crack sauce would be good with it. It came with so much food! We almost couldn’t finish it.

Because I prefer seafood over beef, it was the best Korean bbq I have ever had. We chose Combo B, which includes clams, scallops, octopus, shrimp, and albacore tuna, among other things. With seafood salad, steaming egg, roasted vegetables, and more, it was a success. And the service that we received was exceptional.
Everyone who enjoys seafood should try it.

Very different Korean BBQ, all seafood. It’s quite good. The food portion here is huge, impossible to finish for one person. So you have to come with your eating buddies. A lot of fun watching those clams open up in the fire. Small clams were bit chewy, but very flavourful. The oysters were good, but a bit too small for what I expected. The mussels were probably my favorite, full of mussels flavor and meaty. Pancakes were very well prepared and pan fried. The egg “tofu” in a hot pot was good. Next time, I think I’ll bring more eating buddies than one, and get the combo C, not a wimpy combo A. The reason for four stars, not five, is because the prices went up like crazy! My eating buddy who came here last year said that it was much more reasonable only a year ago. It’s good, but perhaps not at the prices in the current menu. The customers are cooking the food mostly, so shouldn’t the customer get some break for cooking their own meal?

The seafood was really fresh. We had a great time there. Majority of the cooking was done by the employee, so all you do is sit back enjoy the food at your leisure. We went there on weekday when it not as packed. I recommend going there on weekdays, I heard you have to wait a long time during weekend and rush hour.

It’s very fresh, and mostly you could taste the flavour of the seafood itself, not so much seasoned, which is good.
We ordered a combo C. Which is sufficient for 4. According to staff, you could even change something in combo if you really don’t like it.
I don’t like the sashimi salad come with the combo, it’s a little too fishy, even with the sauce, it doesn’t seem to be fresh enough to do a sashimi.
But overall, it’s good. They grilled it for you, so you could just enjoy it perfectly cooked! I like the hag fish, first timer but really good, love the special texture.
