Voted one of the top Ontario Oregon restaurants and best Chinese food. The Chew family started the business in 1989 and it quickly gained a reputation for good Chinese food and take out. Today, you can get orders-to-go and it’s still the best restaurant Ontario for banquets, parties, and special events. Wayne Chew, and his wife Winnie, manage Shanghai Restaurant, serving the finest Chinese cuisine. We also offer catering services and fast takeout, including banquet services in our private dining room for large parties.

I went here because of the other reviews the chicken looked sensational. When we got there we were given menus and told we could sit anywhere. One woman was working hard! Terry was her name. She was PHENOMENAL. She was on top of her game helping about 8 tables alone. She was sweet and quick with our order and receipt! We ordered a 6C which was orange chicken and white rice. And teriyaki chicken dinner with fried rice. I don’t like fried rice as much, but this fried rice was fresh and the pork was cooked perfectly. The teriyaki was my husbands and it did have more onion than he would’ve liked, I’d have to agree, the onion was to much, but we just set it aside! His meal was $12.75 about and mine was also 12.75. I ordered a to-go for my sister of orange chicken and white rice which was the same amount. Paid $41 for three orders! Sprite was fresh, dr proper was great! The decor is lacking, only because it’s more outdated. But it’s not the decor I’m worried about, which is why I gave it 5 stars! The orange chicken batter was THICK, and buttery. It was absolutely fabulous. I couldn’t get enough! My husbands teriyaki was cooked through and super tender as well. Everything was clean. All in all, this place is like a mom and pop shop. It’s a hidden gem at the back of Ontario that you NEEED TO TRY!! Everything is cooked fresh!

Food was good. Service was fast but there was only 3 tables being used. Everything was fine until i got a 40 bill was charged 49 and its oregon no sales tax. They also have a diffrent price for card or cash that was never mentioned to us. Overall good food crappy managment it makes sense that theres no one here. Also the phone rang twice and even though the front end guy was standing by the phone they just let it ring and ring. I wont be back.

Was my first time there. Brenda was the waitress. Great dining experience. Food was really enjoyable. Don’t think they cook with MSG which I this is a big plus. Will go there again.
This restaurant is on the west side of Ontario. Worth the extra minutes to drive there.
Lots of seating, spacious. Good place to go for large families and groups. Plenty of parking too.

Omg the food here is amazing. Was so good and filling. The staff was so sweet and nice. Can’t wait to go back when I’m Ontario. We went im guessing at an off time as there was only us and 1 other couple, and a few hours later, it was very busy. Recommend here hands down.
