I had dinner tonight at Frank’s Pizza located at 2544 Bainbridge Boulevard in the South Norfolk section of Chesapeake.
This place is a little off the beaten path but it’s well worth a visit. An Uber driver recommended them to me as I got a ride home from the airport.
It did not disappoint…
Ashley, the server on duty tonight was fantastic. She was friendly and helpful with menu questions and suggestions. I started out with the House Salad for $5.99 consisting of Lettuce, Tomatoes and Onions. I opted for the recommended House special dressing and it was very good.
I tried to keep it simple tonight since I was flying solo and I ordered a 14” Pepperoni Pizza. This was amazing. It was crunchy on the outside and soft in between in an almost “How do they do that” kind of way. Pizza sauce was very tasty as was the cheese and ample amount pepperoni on the pizza.
If you love good pizza, check out Frank’s Pizza, you’ll be happy you did and you can rest assured that you are supporting our local restaurant community!

Best “New York style” pizza in Hampton roads. Growing up in Philly this place hits. Happy to have found it and will be my new regular spot.

I walked away with a single $48 pizza so a bit pricey

I stopped in for lunch and ordered two slices of pepperoni pizza to go. Very nice indoor seating area, and everyone I could see looked happy with their lunch choice. They were busy but they were very efficient and I was out the door in no time. Pizza was just what I was looking for!!!

Stopped in with a co-worker while working in the area and we both got the lunch special, 2 slices and a drink. The pizza was great! I haven’t had pizza this good in while. I got the pepperoni and was able to dip my crust in the grease. I’ll definitely be back when in the area again.

The pizza was ok, a little soggy, but edible. The salad, don’t do it. I got a chef salad for work The next day and it was brown iceberg lettuce and watery on the bottom. I would try their pizza again and request for a little longer in the oven, but I will NEVER order a salad from them again. A waste of $10.

Came in with my family maybe 6-7 people we got seated right away. The server was fast and very friendly. We order a franks special pizza and nacho raviolis. They were both pretty good wish the onions were cooked more but over all good. The cannoli though is amazing maybe the best in town.

First, I would like to state I have been a customer since Frank’s Pizza opened in the 1980’s and we order at least once a month, and this is the first time I have had a bad experience. We ordered delivery on 11/28/25, the delivery time was normal, but when the food arrived, my pizza sub was extremely SOGGY and cold, my boyfriends’ Frank’s Special Steak and cheese had no cheese and was cold, the French fires were cold and soggy. As I stated, we have been customers since they opened at South Gate Plaza, which is across the street, and I will continue to order from there. I do feel the quality needs to IMPROVE, I do not think it is too much to ask that my order be prepared and delivered properly.

If it weren’t for the pizza, I’d leave 0 stars. This is the second time I ordered a sub, since the first tine was so pathetic I figured it was a fluke…it definitely was not a fluke. If you want a sub roll with a piece of ham, a piece of salami, 2 pieces of cheese, a little brown lettuce then this is the place for you. $12! I could have got a better sub from subway.
