Please note: This review reflects our experience with weekend dim sum only. I have not dined here for dinner, so I can’t speak to that aspect of the restaurant.

Dim sum here follows the classic weekend tradition: ladies and gentlemen push carts through the dining room, and you select dishes by peering at what’s stacked on their trays. Unlike Chinatown, nothing is announced aloud. With a packed house, the resulting cacophony makes conversation a challenge. You often have to strain just to be heard.

Here’s what we tried:
~Deep-fried shrimp with salt & pepper – Flavor was decent, but very messy. ★★★☆☆
~Baked sweet egg yolk buns – Best enjoyed piping hot. ★★★★☆
~Steamed sticky rice with pork sausage (lotus leaf) – Lacked filling. ★★★☆☆
~Steamed spareribs with black bean sauce – Too little sauce, and the meat was tough. ★★★☆☆
~Steamed bean curd roll with pork – Rubbery skin and barely any pork. ★★★☆☆
~Steamed chicken feet with black bean sauce – Again, too little sauce. ★★★☆☆
~Roasted pork pastry – Too doughy and dry. ★★★☆☆
~Deep-fried squid with salt & pepper – Skin membrane wasn’t fully removed before cooking. ★★☆☆☆

Service was noticeably lacking. After being seated, we were largely left alone. Empty teapots went unnoticed, and many diners had to flag down any available server just to get their check, often unsuccessfully. Eventually, people began walking up to the cashier to pay. Those needing takeout containers often helped themselves from the back.

From conversations with friends and after trying several dim sum spots in the Edison area, this is considered one of the better options. That said, while this place may once have been excellent, it now feels a bit too relaxed, almost complacent.

For us, the search for a better dim sum experience continues.

Golden Seafood might work if you’re looking for a very budget-friendly dim sum option, but don’t expect great service or standout dishes.
when tea was brought to the table before I was even asked what kind I wanted. When I mentioned that I hadn’t ordered it, the waiter told me that if I wanted anything
different from what he had already served, I would have to pay an additional service fee. That interaction alone left a sour impression and made the meal feel more frustrating than enjoyable.

Overall review for dim sum : good
Recommend: pineapple buns with egg yolk custard, pineapple bun tarts with egg yolk, calamari
Good: radish cake, lotus leaf dumpling (nuo mi ji), shu mai, taro cake, pepper steak, steamed short rib, chicken feet
Ok: tripe (niu ban ye), chive pocket, tofu skin wrapped shrimp

There are some nice specialties here that are executed well. Definitely would recommend any pastries with the egg yolk center. The calamari is crispy and nice

Many of the dim sum staples we grew up with were not as flavorful as expected. Might be good for a crowd that likes lighter flavors. Textures were all correct though so nothing seemed over- or under- steamed.

I was disappointed in the fried tofu skin wrapped shrimp, it wasn’t very flavorful and was greasy and overcooked though not yet into burnt territory.

It’s not super crowded but it does get full. Going at a busier time ensures more fresh items and also a better selection. Going at open ensures a seat but not everything will be available yet.

Our party of 12 came here with a Friday night reservation for 6:30 PM. We weren’t celebrating anything in particular but we did order a lot of the classic birthday dishes, including fried flounder, lobster, abalone, chicken, conch with fried tofu and shrimp, fried shrimp with mayo, sweet and sour pork ribs, longevity noodles, and fried rice. I haven’t had this type of traditional Cantonese food in years, so this was very nostalgic for me. My favorites were definitely the fried flounder and the lobster. The shrimp with mayo was a little disappointing because it was just a lot of batter. Typically, it should just be a light coating, so that was a bit different.

Although this is a bit far for me, I think I would still be willing to make the trek every once in a while, especially since there isn’t really any authentic Cantonese food by my neighborhood.

I stumble upon this dim sum restaurant as I was visiting a client in New Jersey. It’s pretty quiet on a Wednesday noon, so there are lots of parking spaces and tables.

The restaurant looks pretty dated. They have plenty of large round tables to accommodate large parties. They also have private rooms for parties that wish to do KTV. I did inquire this, and the minimum total amount spent for a private room is $450 at the time of this review.

Regarding the food, their dim sums taste alright and made to order. However, their dim sum portions are small in comparison to other dim sum restaurants in NJ (and even NY). Their Shrimp Shumai and Pan Fried Eggplant are probably the highlights of their dim sum menu.

As for their Lunch Specials, $9.50 as a starting price is pretty sweet deal. It comes with a choice of soup and rice. However, their soups leave a lot to be desired. I order the Chicken & Broccoli, and there’s just not enough sauce. The chicken is okay, and the broccoli isn’t fresh. As for the Grouper Filet with String Bean, that dish tastes pretty good.

As for the service, the servers aren’t attentive. They do not care, and they do not speak or respond. It’s like they don’t want to be there or work.

Overall, the dining experience is just okay. Their prices are good (if you pay by cash), but that’s what you get in terms of quality and service.

Great food. Pretty quick turn around too if you get in early. I’m allergic to shellfish but there is still plenty of good stuff to eat. My family loves all the shrimp dishes too.

This is a newly opened Cantonese restaurant. We heard it from CA friends who came visit here a week ago. They tried DimSum and gave me recommendations. I came here for dinner with other 8 people. We ordered 10 dishes and all think it really worth revisiting for its DimSum. The service was quick and the staffs were courteous. The price was a bit cheaper than the other same level Cantonese restaurant. Why is it only 4 stars from me? I reserve the last one for next time DimSum visit!

It’s a good Chinese restaurant. The staff are friendly as well. Food taste good and the serving is big. We like the lunch meals Monday to Friday. I has 1 viand, a cup of rice and soup and a pot of tea. Egg drop soup is good. For dinner, their serving is good for 2 to 3 people. My son likes the fried silver fish. We usually get the sweet and sour pork, house fried rice and fried scallops.

Today is Saturday (04/29), and you can see how busy it is just by looking at the photos. Open at 10am, and those who arrive at 11am have to wait for a seat.
Parking is easy.
The food is delicious and fair pricing.
The serious “PROBLEMS” are:
1) The chopsticks are sticky and like have a waxy feel, which is obviously not clean. I washed myself with hot tea and it was fine.
2) The chili and mustard sauce will only be given if you ask, the waiter will not automatically serve it.

Delicious Cantonese restaurant. Most of the negative reviews are in regards to the poor service, which we did not receive. Was it stellar, no. But Cantonese service isn’t exactly known to be world-class.

It wasn’t busy tonight so our food came out super fast. Chicken, fish and pork. They were all cooked to perfection. Haven’t tried the dim sum yet but will definitely be back to try it out soon!
