Kesar’s is a foodie’s dream. Kesar’s is a father’s determination. Kesar’s is a culmination of a lot of things. But, most importantly, it is a culinary journey. It is Kesar’s India on a plate. Kesar is the richest spice in the spice basket. It is the spice with the golden hue. It has the Midas touch that makes everything it touches golden too. For our founder, Manish, Kesar is the queen of spices. So, when his daughter was born, he already knew what he was going to name her. He also knew that when he would realize his lifelong dream of opening a restaurant, it would be for his princess, his Kesar. And in 2018, he finally realized his dream. This time again, he knew precisely what his lifelong dream would be named – Kesar’s.

If you’re craving North Indian flavors that actually taste homemade, Kesars in Edison totally hits the spot. The place has a comfortable, welcoming vibe—nothing fancy, but neat and inviting with quick, friendly service. Their paneer dishes are standouts, especially the Kesar Paneer Tikka and Paneer Butter Masala, both creamy, rich, and full of flavor. The garlic naan was perfectly soft with that buttery finish you can’t stop eating. I also liked that they don’t overload the food with spice or oil—it’s flavorful without being heavy. The chole bhature came out hot and fresh, and the bhature was puffed and perfectly crisp. Portion sizes are generous, great for sharing or packing leftovers. The servers were attentive but not hovering, and food arrived fast even during the evening rush. Prices are reasonable for the quality and the portions. Overall, Kesars is one of those places you’ll keep coming back to when you just want comforting North Indian food done right.

Having been here before and trying the gigantic Maharaja Thali with my cousins, I was excited to bring my wife to get a smaller thali.

Pani Poori- 6 pcs – these were tasty though the chutney was more like syrup. The water used came out in a small bottle which was cool.

Crispy Baby Corn- great indochinese appetizer, the baby corn is lightly battered and fried then tossed in a sauce

Soya Masala Curry- this was a flop. The tomato onion based curry lacked salt and spice and the actual soya pieces were too soft and mushy in texture. Wish these were a bit more dense as experienced in other restaurants.

Roomali Roti- drown in ghee and it must have sat over a gas flame because it tasted of bad chemicals. Basically like eating the ghee-soaked cotton swabs from
the candles at the local temple.

Kathiyawadi Thali- the wife’s dish- she enjoyed two if the items but this was not a great experience either.

I was disappointed in the vast difference in quality between two visits. Service, however was great as servers were attentive and quick.

Fresh Indian vegetarian food. Special standouts – their Royal thali, noodles and Raj kachori
Cholle bhature are good, big enough for 2-3 people
Makki ki roti Saag is okay
Avoid Daal baati
Service is very good.
But the best thing everything served was fresh.

Imagine visiting a BestBuy and buying a duffel bag and no electronics? I visited this Thali place for the first time only to not have any of their speciality Thali meals instead have biryani and puris.

The person who services us was very kind and helpful with the selections. I went here for lunch with some of our friends and family and after having had a heavy home breakfast and hence didn’t have an appetite for the Thali meals. That’s the same reason I didn’t click a lot of pics like I would usually do.

The vegetable biryani, SPDP chaat and puris with aloo subzi came in no time from the time we ordered. As much as the food was tasty I found them bit salty and the subzi little oily – this coming from a salt lover who tends to add salt to anything he eats, you can trust me.

Overall a good restaurant serving quality food and with ample parking space (weekend parking story could be little different).

I remember, I visited them 2-3 yrs back since then this is our favorite eating spot for every occasion.

Foo quality excellent, service is great and prices are reasonable.

My wife loves South Indian dishes, my son Loves Punjabi, daughters like Gujarati / Maharashtrian style food and we all get as per our preferences.

Recently we celebrated our daughter’s birthday and we ordered Maharaja Thali and it was a great experience for all of us.

Thank you Kesar

We went in for thalis and tried the Punjabi Thali, Special Kesar’s Thali, and the Kathiyavadi Thali. The Kathiyavadi Thali was the absolute star—so flavorful, with authentic curries and perfectly made rotlas. On the server’s recommendation, we also ordered the Dahi Puri and Fried Chilli Momos, which turned out to be top-notch as well. Overall, a must-visit place for anyone who loves authentic flavors and hearty portions!

1. Good food quantity.
2. Taste is acceptable for most of the items.
3. Service time is good.
4. Not very crowded on a weekend.
5. Masala chai not so good.
6. All the items in Punjabi thali are good except gulab jamun
7. In dal baati, the baati is hard and tastes like it’s made of corn instead of aata.
8. Soya chaap sizzler not really worth it. Too much red color and quite dry.
9. Mango lassi and raj kachori chaat are good

This restaurant is truly amazing, nestled in a predominantly Indian business area, serving incredibly authentic Indian cuisine for an overseas experience! The ambiance is charming and delightful, with friendly staff who were very accommodating when we asked for mild flavors suitable for my toddler. The Raj kachori is absolutely phenomenal, nearly as good as the one I tried in New Delhi! The hot and sour soup was decent, but the noodles and Amritsari kulcha thali were perfection! ❤️❤️ I wish we had this gem in Boston too!
