No wait on the bar! Crowded and a popular spot! Apparently a staple in NM. I had the New Mexico steak and it was delish. Couldn’t have the beans but the the green chili was great as part of the serving. Huge plate! The rice was a little bit crunchy but it was great. The chips were thicker than what I am accustomed to but the guacamole, cheese and salsa were absolutely yummy.
Creative ambience made it seem a local feel and we love supporting local owned places. They do give military discount! Walking distance to our hotel which was a plus!

First: The food is just fast food. We ordered and approx 5 minutes later at was at the table. Not much to prep. I had to ask for jalapenos for my nachos.

2nd: Paid almost $10 for margarita and got a child’s small sippy cup with no alcohol taste at all (see picture).

3rd: The waitress was good.

4th: A loud roudy group of patrons were yelling disturbing others eating. A couple of tables asked floor manager to make them quiet down. He just kept looking at the roudy table. After about 25 minutes of the roudy table they finally left. I don’t know if the manager said anything or not.

WE WONT BE BACK

My hubbie, mom and I went on my birthday to finally try it out, as we’ve heard good things. We started with the Grand Gold Margaritas, which were delicious but tiny for 11 bucks. We also started with The Works Appetizer, which was Salsa, Queso & Guacamole. Those were pretty good too, but no spice at all (if you like spicy stuff like we do). My mom got the Ground Beef Enchiladas, my hubbie got the Ground Beef Taco Plate and I got the New Mexican Steak dinner. We all split a side of Carne Adovada as well. The enchiladas were delicious, no complaints there. The tacos were ok, but they did have “taco seasoned” ground beef and very dry rice on the side. My Steak was cooked perfectly, (which is still mooing, lol. my favorite). The Red and Green chile were both very flavorful, but not as spicy as we like, still really good though! The Carne Adovada was very flavorful & tender as well. We got the Natillas & Pinon Cheesecake to split for dessert. They were both just ok; the natillas tasted like a box pudding instead of homemade with the fluffy whites folded in gently, and the pinon cheesecake was pretty disappointing honestly. The pinons weren’t roasted, so they were soft and some tasted old (rancid). Again, they were just ok, but the rest of the food was pretty good!

We had a wonderful experience at Tomasita’s Restaurant in Albuquerque. From the moment we arrived, everything was top-notch. Our server, Alvaro, was fantastic, attentive, friendly, and truly made us feel welcome. The food was absolutely delicious, with great flavors and quality in every bite. The entire restaurant was also clean, neat, and well cared for, which we really appreciated. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend stopping in!

First time at this location. They are offering free meals for furloughed employees so my husband and I came for dinner and it was delicious. The green chili was spicy and our tummies are happy thank you so much Tomasita’s for helping federal employees during this difficult time.

We had my mom’s 100th birthday celebration at Tomasita’s this past weekend here in Albuquerque. It was an exceptional celebration with over 60 people. Tina and Matt were our servers and they were so fantastic beyond words! They took the food and drink orders with such professionalism and got the delicious food out in a timely manner. Our guests are still raving about the service, the food and the friendly staff and how welcomed everyone felt. The atmosphere was an added plus. I worked with the managers, Karen and Antoinette in the planning stages and they listened to my wants and needs with such caring and concern and followed through with EVERYTHING! My mom, Edwina and our family wish to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to you all for making this a memorable event for us.

The southern location of a Santa Fe classic. Tomasita’s features outstanding Northern New Mexico style dishes. Their chile con queso is worth noting, but everything we’ve had from the menu has been tasty and authentic. On this visit, the green chile had a really nice bite – that little burn in the back of your throat that reminds you why you love this kind of food. Perfect for the green chile chicken enchilada plate, The red is also flavorful with enough heat to do the same on my christmas combo plate. The service was prompt, the food was well made and delivered hot. The beers on tap (one imort, one local craft brew) were the perfect thing to accompany the meal. Same with the freshly made soppapillas. The honey butter that comes with them is an indulgent special touch. It’s one of our favorite spots to visit when we eat out.

I sat at the bar as I was dining solo and it was such a fun experience! The bartender was so sweet and attentive despite how busy it was. I ordered the marg flight (it is STRONG, but not overpowering. They don’t skimp on the alcohol at all) and the carne adovada at the recommendation of a coworker and it was amazing. This was the first sopapilla I had and it was perfection. The whipped honey butter was my favorite way to eat sopapillas.

If you’re dining with a group, I’d recommend making a reservation as it was busy even on a Wednesday when I went. Totally worth it!
