The food was an absolute disappointment from start to finish. When we first walked in we noticed a fishy smell.
They brought out the bread and water. Bread was fair, nothing special. It did come with a vinegar and bean salad to put on the bread, it was tasty.
We ordered a few drinks which took way too long to get our drinks. For the main course we ordered a pound of the Alaskan king crab legs, lobster bisque, black Angus 8 oz filet, ceasar salad, and the lobster Mac and cheese.
It took an hour for our food to come out. I’m going to type that again, it took an hour for our food to come out. My filet was cold so I sent it back and said I didn’t want to wait for another one. The crab legs were good but no seasoning at all. They brought butter to dip them in which helped a little bit but they are meaty but bland.
The lobster Mac and cheese, the lobster tail which was a small one was on top of it no meat mixed in. I was really hoping the Mac and cheese was going to be out of this world but unfortunately it was bland as hell.
The ceasar salad was good it come with an anchovie which is very strong but I did enjoy that. The lobster bisque was decent not my favorite and not the worse.
The staff was at the mercy of the kitchen which unfortunately put them in a bad position due to the long wait for the food.
We did order several margaritas and the Hemingway daquari which she liked.
The waitor apologized for the wait and the manager came over and apologized.
I appreciate the apology but waiting for an hour for food is absolutely ridiculous.
I won’t be returning to The Detroit Cowboy and I won’t be recommending it either.
I did not order dessert, I was ready to go home.
My bill was $313.84. The pound of King Crab was $170.00 of the bill, we had 4 drinks at $15 for 3 and the daquari was $16. The bisque was $16, salad was $15. Tax was $36.99. I left a $50 tip. Total was $363.84.
The table next to us had one of the chefs at their table talking and bringing out all kinds of food to them, wish we had received that sort of service!
I am just really disappointed in how this dinner turned out. I so wish it was the total opposite.
Lemon scented washcloth service at the end! I highly recommend!
friendly and professional. The place was super clean, and all the employees were well-behaved and respectful, which I appreciated.
The food tasted good, but the prices were crazy high. I’ve been to places with amazing-delicious food that cost way less. I’m guessing the high prices are because of the luxurious decor and the fact that the place was almost empty.
They probably need to charge more just to cover their bills.
Portion sizes were also a letdown — very small, like they were made for kids. Also my meal which was pasta with lobster, was like half pound of pasta and half of a lobster, terrible.
I liked the vibe and the service, but honestly, I wouldn’t go back. If you’re thinking about visiting, think twice — it’s nice, but not worth the price.
