At 10:00 AM on July 14, 2025, the on-duty manager addressed my concern regarding a minor issue.
I am pleased with the experience! The two-piece all-white snack, priced at $8.99, along with a regular-sized drink at $2.28, resulted in a total of $12.07.
The freshness of the food is commendable.

3/10 – Chicken tenders are soggy and falling apart, barely edible. Batter is not great. No buffalo, just house vinegar ketchup. Good service and quick turnaround but food missed the mark.

These tubs of food were full about 20 minutes ago. Ordered for take out for our grandsons 1st Birthday. Food was ready as promised and arrived fresh and hot. As you can see by the pictures we enjoyed it very much.

This place doesn’t disappoint. They are friendly, and the pulled pork is good. We liked the fried chicken as well. It had a nice crispy coating and the inside was moist. I always liked the idea of having a sink to rinse your hands right at the front. At first I thought it was weird, but after regular napkins don’t get all of the chicken juice and hush puppy butter off, it makes a lot of sense.

I will take my baby to this Smithfield’s as our daily outing about once per week. I have been able to get to know a few of the friendly faces at this location. Every person here is so kind, and clearly passionate about high quality service. I have watched the manager interact with the employees and it seems that he is very intentional about modeling the kind of service that Smithfield’s upholds as their standard of care.
The food is consistent in quality, served hot and delicious! Throughout my meals, servers will often ask to refill my beverage or remove any finished plates or garbage with a smile!
I really enjoy the wholesome environment, retro music, and the simplicity of cooling AC on a hot day.

Best fried chicken in town! Definitely a NC favorite for chicken and BBQ. Staff are friendly and will bring your food to you, as well as refill your drink.

Stopped by Smithfield’s BBQ and Chicken. I had the BBQ chicken platter with baked beans, brunswick stew and hushpuppies which I thoroughly enjoyed. The sweet tea was refreshing.
The BBQ sauce was tangy and delicious with quite a strong vinegar flavor. Maybe a bit much for some folks but I liked it.
The hushpuppies were nice and crisp but not too dry. The baked beans were great and the brunswick stew is always a go to favorite of mine.
I’d definitely recommend Smithfield’s for dine in or carry out. And we’ve used their catering service for family reunions in the past several times. It’s always been a hit.

I was very disappointed with my order. My order was wrong and the food was not the exceptional taste from my last experience. To make it worse I ordered the all white combo and was expecting a breast and wing. I got a wing but the other piece of chicken was NOT a breast and was inedible for me.
