Wonderful place!!!
This restaurant is a hidden gem in the heart of the city, with more than 20 years in business, consistently offering quality, homemade food, service, and tradition.
Visiting it is like traveling back in time, discovering thousands of memories, details, and stories.
The food is homemade, delicious, and plentiful. Unbeatable value for money. Be sure to try the onion rings (super crispy) and the Reuben sandwich.
A must-visit!!

It’s such a weird place on the outside, something you’d probably avoid and certainly an outlier for its location, but you HAVE to go inside. It’s not so much a classic diner feel as it is the decor. You can tell it’s authentic. The food was delicious too; The fried okra was amazing and the rest of the “diner” type food was so good!

Great little diner maintaining a classic, homely feel that’s increasingly difficult to find these days. Food was great and reasonably priced, staff was inviting and friendly, and the atmosphere is 10/10. It’s inspiring to see a little place like this thriving, we’ll definitely be back

Back again after a couple of years and hit on a Tuesday, but not just ANY Tuesday. It’s the 1st Tuesday of the month, and Parker High Alumni lunch day. Packed house even at 11:45, with most of the folks already lingering over styrofoam cups. While our greeting at the counter rather bluntly was that we wouldn’t find any table seats, fortunately our server Allie (who likely hoped for someone ordering something) scooped us up and ushered us to the last table open in the second room. Got our drink orders promptly and left paper menus, getting back shortly to take our order. My colleagues both had salads, generous helpings on styrofoam plates- the Large Chef (9$) and Large Philly Bleu ($9, and like a Philly Classic w/ no bread)- some dressings are house made, most aren’t, just ask. They finished them all, no argument there. I went more traditional soda shop with the Cheeseburger Deluxe ($8.25, add $1.25 for half fries/ half rings), and unfortunately, it really wasn’t much above average. A standard patty done on a griddle with a plain bun, though the condiments ordered were the ones received. But, how much is there to complain about when you are serenaded at 12:40 by a recorded version of the Parker High Alma Mater with the whole restaurant singing along? Or, all during lunch you can gaze at one of the most eclectic selections of beer and wild animal wall art anywhere? Or honor the lost customers commemorative nameplates? Certainly worth a trip, but if you are wearing a mask, be aware you’re likely the only one doing that in the place.

This is a great local place that has been around since the 40s and is filled with pictures and other local memorabilia. With that being said, yes the decor, seats, tables, etc are dated but it makes for a great local diner experience. The food was awesome, tasted fresh and cooked to order. Extra kudos because we stopped by 30 minutes before they closed as they still delivered excellent service and never rushed us.

Took my son here for lunch today. Great experience! Like stepping back in time. The food was also great. I had the pimento cheese burger. Yum! Kids meal also comes with a scoop of ice cream.

So I pull into this place called the soda shop. Parking near parking area which is not very well design but you get the concept. Park walk inside when you walk inside you kind of get this old 90s feeling it’s not very Multicultural I should say but it’s cool. I was immediately greeted and helped I do order everything to go just so I can get containers in plastic ware but I did eat in. I ordered the special which is the pimento cheese burger play what’s that supposed to be famous for. They cooked it to order didn’t wait very long wait time was very minimal I could say. When I receive my order everything was fresh just made hot I did get a pimento cheese burger french fries and coleslaw fries were good cheeseburger was good taste anything special come taste like a regular cheeseburger to me the vegetables on their refresh the lettuce and tomatoes bun was toasted the coleslaw not so much I was not that great at all but he did bring out these onion rings for taste test and I must say these onion rings were heaven like these are the best onion rings I’ve ever had ever and I don’t even like onion rings so those are highly recommended that’s kind of what you see a picture of a half-eaten onion ring so yes please eat here highly recommended

One of Greenville lunch institutions, this place is loaded with history and uniqueness. Self-proclaimed dive spot and like most dive spots, it was delicious.
Don’t let the exterior fool/intimidate you, the food was great and the service was friendly.
I ate the pimento cheeseburger too fast to take a picture, sorrynotsorry, I’ll be back!
