Highly recommend! Joy was one of the most personable and helpful bartenders I have ever encountered. I was not a “regular”, traveling for a new job and away from my husband and son for the first time in many years, but she treated me as if I were. I found this unique restaurant and lounge on Google. Though they didn’t have the fish and grits I originally saw in a review, Joy recommended I try their Catfish and even substituted the fries for cole slaw at my request… It was amazing. I quickly felt comfortable dining alone, had a wonderful meal and some great conversations. Looking forward to coming back in a few months. This will definitely be my “go to” place in the future!

Staying at the Marriott Courtyard nearby, this is a possible option? So, this is an interesting restaurant with a lot of Marine Corp and law enforcement decor (patches, plaques, pictures..). If you are a Marine or law enforcement fan, supporter, Veteran as I am, it will likely be worth your time. The dinner ordered was the French onion soup to start, small puter bowl, soup was warm not hot, served trafional as Had, dark broth base, onions, and melted cheese topping, tasted good to me. My travel companion ordered the chicken marsala, see picture, mostly noodle with a small chicken pre-formed Patty the size of a hamburger in surface size. Taste of the dish did not stand out, bland and most of the noodles were left ineaten. I ordered the prime rib, medium. The meat was cooked to order an average portion, with a small helping of green beans and a medium baked potato. Our take away was that the starches were oversized. The quality and quantity we’re average for the price. The service was prompt enough and the young man was polite, we we’re there at approximately 5:30 and we’re two of approximately 12 patrons. For dessert, the deep dish apple pie was definitely disappointing! Bland and the crust needs to be changed please as well as the recipe, there are so many options, you can do better! Semper Fi and thank those who serve for their service! This rating should be in the range of (3.1-3.5) Stars.

Love the Globe and Laurel. Wonderful staff, amazing food and great atmosphere. We visit every time we are in town. The owner and staff are like family. So welcoming. Can’t say enough. Love it.

Basic bar food, nothing Majestic about it. Staff was friendly but don’t go with a large group like we did. Meals came out at vastly different times. I was done with my meal before many at our table had been served. Interesting atmosphere if you are into military memorabilia.

This is my new favorite place! The ambiance is nice, family oriented with a rich military history. Although the menu is not exhaustive what they make is very good. Met the chef today who made chicken and waffles with the chicken cooked inside of the waffle plus some chicken on the side. I had the fried fish and grits and have never had grits with a cajun spin on it. Delish! I’ve been back 3 times this week! And manager, Wayne Kelly is personable and kind.

I love the atmosphere at The Globe and Laurel. Military history displayed on the walls. The pasta was phenomenal. The portions are very generous. My husband had one of the burgers.

This was the worst experience I’ve had at a restaurant in a long time. The service was brutal. I ordered the chicken parm and it came out about the consistency of shrimp. Had to send it back. The only bright spot was the French onion soup.

We stumbled upon this excellent restaurant while trying to avoid the DC traffic. Food was great and the atmosphere was comfortable. Would definitely recommend this restaurant!

My family just bought a house in the area and we wanted to try out a local restaurant. The manager greeted us warmly and set up a table for us. The interior of the restaurant is incredible – full of military artifacts and seals of government agencies. There is a cigar bar on the site, so there is a tobacco smell in the restaurant. Our server was very friendly. She got confused about our order, but it all worked out. The food was plentiful and tasty. This is definitely a place worth visiting, even if you don’t eat there.
