We stopped here for breakfast this morning and immediately understood why it was standing room only. This is clearly the spot in town, whether you’re a local or just passing through.

Located right across from the Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitors Center, this place serves true home-style breakfast done exceptionally well. We’d seen plenty of reviews about the pancakes, but they still don’t fully prepare you for just how fantastic they are. At one point, we watched someone order one of their massive pancakes and take the rest home, which meant you get a standard pizza box to carry it out. That alone says everything about the portion size.

The biscuit was excellent, and the weekly specialty pancake really hit the spot. The service matched the food, friendly, attentive, and full of positive energy. The whole place has a welcoming vibe that makes you want to linger.

One thing to note: they don’t accept tips on credit cards, so bring some cash. You’ll want it anyway, because the staff truly goes above and beyond.

If there’s a wait, it’s absolutely worth it. Check this place out. You won’t be disappointed.

After a walk around the Battlefield we decided to stop for lunch as the smell of bacon was all around us as we descended the battlefield area. The pancake shown is the “small” pancake. The 2 egg omelet with bacon or sausage with cheese were both good. The pancake was amazing. Keep up the great work. Staff were helpful and very friendly.

About 15 tables in the restaurant and 3 tables outside. There is about 10 seats at the counter. They have a breakfast and lunch/dinner menu. We enjoy going for breakfast. They a gaint pa cake that can feed 4 poeple or you try and solo it. Wonderful and friendly staff. They get very busy on the weekend. It is a good idea to call ahead and see if you need to put your name on the wait list.

I came. I inquired. I ordered. I couldn’t eat it all. A very good recipe for the pancake. Nicely spiced sausage. I shared hash browns that were delicious. I will be back.

We’ve visiting a few times for breakfast and are always impressed with the portions of our meal. Only thing we’d like to suggest is some upgrades to the bathrooms and a different choice in music. Our server TJ was very friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and price can’t be beat.

Cozy country cafe located across the street from Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor’s Center. The pancakes and Biscuits and Gravy were excellent! My server, Cindy was nice and friendly. Prices were great for how much food you get!

You ask why a pizza box, when ordering pancakes?! That is the size of the pancakes! About 14″ wide by an 1″ thick. Food was amazing! Great local place!

My wife and I went early on a Saturday morning, and they already had a few people there. We had the breakfast special (1), and I was not paying attention as I repeated my wife’s order. We both ended up with the big pancake. Considering the size, I was very impressed that the pancake was perfectly cooked throughout, crispy on the edges, quite fluffy, and tasted delicious without syrup.

When we went to pay, we found out there is an upcharge of about $5.50 per big pancake. Both of us felt it was still a fair price, as we went home with our pizza box full of pancakes. We plan to return again, though only one pancake next time.

I’ve been wanting to check out Battlefield Restaurant for a while and glad I finally had the opportunity to do so. This is easily the best homestyle restaurant in the area. The service is incredible. Our waiter explained everything, was friendly, and helpful. You can customize meals almost any way you’d like. The food is great. One warning about the giant pancake – it’s bigger than you think. We got another meal out of that sucker. You bring it home in a pizza box. My one complaint is that it’s difficult to park in such a small lot and this place can get busy. They do take reservations.

By and far one of THE COOLEST places that I’ve ever had the privilege of eating at. The place is run by TJ and his Mom Cyndi. The food and the service were just out of this world. The atmosphere is totally cool with a 50’s diner vibe to it. Sat at the counter and got to see everything going down in real time and it was controlled chaos that TJ handled masterfully. If you’re ever in Fredericksburg you owe it to yourself to stop in for the great atmosphere, food, and service.
