The taste of the fish, although fried correctly, hardly resembled catfish that I ever remember. Musta been frozen a while to be so bland-shameful. Typical of chains, salt overload on it and the caesar salad, the latter also too creamy. Fresh vegetables were by far the best of the 3, but unfortunately not why I came!
Atmosphere LOUD and PACKED for a Wednesday night-what a gold mine! Overall, will not be returning. I will try Cracker Barrel’s grilled catfish (double-checked the menu this time) next n hope for the best.
Walked away with the feeling that my stomach was going to burst because we definitely over-ordered. However, I would not change anything about our experience today.
Unfortunately, the wait wasn’t even the worst part. I ordered an 8oz sirloin cooked medium rare with grilled shrimp, broccoli, and loaded mashed potatoes. I had only taken two bites of my steak when I noticed what looked like a white hair lying on top of it. At first, I thought it might have been cheese from the mashed potatoes, but when I picked it up with my fork, it kept getting longer, confirming it was indeed hair.
I called over the nearest server (I didn’t catch her name, but she was wearing a blue Yankees hat). She was very attentive, confirmed it was hair, and was very apologetic. About 10 minutes later, a gentleman brought out a replacement plate. I noticed they added carrots, which were not originally part of my meal, but I didn’t mind. He asked me to cut into the steak to confirm it was cooked properly. When I did, it was well done. I explained that I had ordered medium rare. He checked and stated the ticket showed medium well, but I clarified that was not what I ordered. He apologized and returned it to the kitchen.
Another replacement came shortly after, and this time the steak was cooked correctly. However, by that point, everyone else at my table had already finished their meals, and I was no longer hungry. I ended up packing the meal to go.
I understand mistakes can happen, but I was disappointed that no compensation or gesture was offered for the inconvenience. I wasn’t expecting a free meal, but even a small discount or acknowledgment would have been appreciated.
Had not been here in a long time and had a gift card that wanted to use. Never again!
We were a party of five on a Friday around 6:30 pm. It was a wait of about 10 minutes, not bad at all. Hostess was very nice.
Our waitress Christy was very kind and funny. We felt so very welcomed here. The atmosphere was pretty cool, not too loud, not too quite, football games were on. Various TVs around the restaurant.
The food did not take too long either. Most of us had some type of steak. They were all delicious, full of flavor, cooked to perfection.
I also tried their Margaritas with an extra tequila shot! Amazing drinks.
We had an excellent experience at this location. We did not want to go back to California without having experience Texas Roadhouse!
