Nestled in the N. Augusta strip mall where Fred’s used to be, you’ll find Las Palmas serving up a small menu of fresh Mex; service with a smile in a cozy, clean, kitsch-free dining room. It’s inexpensive, to boot.
Saturday & Sunday, tamales, pozole and menudo are served. No beer or liquor license, credit cards welcome. Not to be confused with an unrelated taqueria bearing the same name in Aiken.

Very good and authentic tacos and enchiladas, quiet and very clean. No adult beverages but lots of Mexican and American sodas. Nice toppings bar for your tacos. Extremely reasonable prices.

Very fresh food, kind and attentive service, clean and modern interior. Quite different than other Mexican offerings in the area. Relatively simple, limited menu.

Wow, where do I begin. I ordered 3 tacos, carnitas chorizo and carne asada, along with rice and beans. You have to go to back of the restaurant to put your condiments on – chopped onions, cilantro, lime, salsa verde, etc. Well the condiments are frozen because the cooler does too good of a job but the salsa verde was empty and the onions were empty as well. They did bring up more once I asked.
The food is maybe okay depending upon if you like traditional Mexican food. I like traditional Mexican food and I’ve had a lot better than this about 5 minutes from here in Augusta on Washington road. Maybe it was a bad night for them? I came in at 7:15 and left at 8:18 there was a large party in one of the boots and maybe a couple other families but there were no Mexican families. That’s one thing to look for when you want to get authentic Mexican food, when you walk in you should see at least two or three Mexican families eating, that’s a sign that this is the place to be. When the Mexican families come out and support a restaurant like this maybe they’re close friends, maybe it’s good Mexican food or both. This place was lacking and why I gave it three stars.

Best authentic tacos in the CSRA. Their meats are excellent. Guacamole is fresh made as well and excellent.

Las Palmas is a hidden gem. Although the menu is fairly limited compared to El Teresa’s, the quality of the food more than makes up for it. The tacos are fantastic. I ordered tacos al pastor and the pork was delicious. The salsa was very good and a step above the usual nondescript red stuff restaurants usually have. It tasted very fresh and had a hint of cloves (I think). Really, everything seemed fresh. Very clean restaurant. Will definitely return.

I decided to check this place out for the first time the other day. The waitress was excellent at her job. I ordered a Burrito and a Sopes Gorditas. When the waitress asked what meat i wanted for them i told her to surprise me. Her recommendations were spot on, the food was good, and the prices reasonable. I will definitely be returning.

Should have left when only saw one table of customers at 6pm on a Friday night. Had bland tacos, chewy chips, cold salsa, and what looked like leftovers on my wife and son’s plate disguised as burritos.
Don’t be fooled by the small menu, no authentic here.

I don’t mean to be rude but this was the worst food I’ve ever had. The salsa had allspice or nutmeg in it, the sour cream was runny, and the meat was very fatty and greasy. Everything was old, even the cilantro was wilted.

High price for the amount of food, and not 100% authentic! I was born in Mexico and lived there 18 years so I know first hand what it’s authentic, they are more authentic than Montereys and Teresa’s but not the real deal.
