We found this place because we were in the area and wanted to find a Lunch spot. We were hoping to sit and enjoy a meal, but unfortunately, the place is just for picking up an order. Originally when I saw photos on here, it showed tables, so that wasn’t a good surprise. We ordered vermicelli bowls and they were very flavorful and they give you a lot for your money. We also ordered the guava and pomegranate boba drinks and spring rolls. The drinks were very refreshing, boba was perfect in texture and taste. The spring rolls were another story, probably the worst I’ve ever had. We asked for the pork spring rolls, and it was filled with lots of lettuce, bean sprouts, some noodles, and a thin flavorless slice of dry ‘pork’? The peanut sauce didn’t taste fresh and it was very dark in color.
But, I would say, the people working there were very kind, quick, and attentive. I hope this will help the place to do better but also to make customers aware of what to expect.

I have mixed reviews about this spot.

There’s a small parking lot at the top of the mini shopping complex with additional parking on the street or taking the ramp down.

Service was quick, ordered online and quick pick up. Don’t forget there’s only pick up and zero dine in at this location. Ambience was clean from what I could see.

Food

Banh mi sandwiches were packed with tofu and chicken. both marination was good but made my stomach extremely sore after,
Spicy Garlic Chicken Sandwich $11.95
Spicy Garlic Tofu Sandwich $11.95

Veggie Pho $16.50
Extra Mixed Veggies $2.25
Pho was stacked with veggies but a little bland

Pork Sausage Spring Roll $0.00
Pork was extremely dry………..

I don’t think I would come back only because the sandwiches or overall food made my stomach extremely sore…..

You can’t get good Vietnamese in Los Angeles… and Mana Hong’s is no exception. I really wanted to like it’s, but this visit was disappointing. The tofu bánh mì was just… strange. The glazed tofu didn’t have anything special to it, and the whole sandwich felt off. The spring rolls didn’t have any mint, which took away a lot of the freshness and flavor they’re supposed to have.

We also tried the steak bánh mì, and it wasn’t great either—mostly sauce with almost no actual flavor from the meat.

Overall, nothing tasted balanced or memorable. I expected much better.

I’ve been in the neighborhood for about five years and love this place. They ALWAYS have great energy, great food, quick service, and great customer service. Tonight, I was hungover and didn’t want to walk three blocks so I made the mistake of ordering through Uber Eats which got royally screwed up by Coco and then the driver who took over from Coco. I called to try and understand what this issue was and they said not to worry, they’d take care of me. So I pulled it together, walked over, and they gave me two orders of Pho, no additional charge, and I was able to walk home before the idiot driver could get to my front door (spoiler alert: he never got there). These dudes are awesome. They didn’t have to do that, but they did and I am super grateful. I rarely use delivery food services and have another reason to order go back to Mama Hongs and one less to use Uber Eats. Thank you.

It’s about time I review this place! I’ve had just about everything on the menu. Here is a brief summary of each meal I’ve tried:

Pho – The Pho here is solid. I wouldn’t say this is a “Pho spot”, but since it’s the only close place to get Pho in this area I’m not complaining. I prefer the chicken Pho. The broth pairs well with the packet of hoisin and Sambal they provide.

Grill combos – I find these meal combos to be the best bang for your buck. You get a large portion, and can even add an egg roll. My favorite would be the Grilled Rib Eye Steak. The Pork chop is also worth a try. Make sure you pair the meat of your choice with the Vermicelli noodles!

From The Wok – The Shaken Beef with garlic noodles was really tasty! The tenderloin was perfectly tender. The only veggie in this dish is onion, so you’ll likely want to accompany this meal with a spring roll. The Spicy Garlic Tofu and Chicken variations of the dish definitely warrant a try!

Banh Mi – These Vietnamese sandwiches are the safe option when you don’t know what to get here. They won’t disappoint! I loved the Spicy Garlic Chicken Banh Mi. It had a sweet and spicy sauce in a small baguette that wasn’t to thick.

Spring Rolls – These are ok. The dipping sauce is key, as they over stuff lettuce in these with a small amount of meat.

Other Appetizers – I prefer the Egg Rolls over the Spring rolls. You can get one egg roll with your grill combo, or get 2-4 as an appetizer. The cream cheese wontons are always a hit, however it didn’t come with sweet chili sauce. You may need to request this. The Spicy Salt and Pepper Wings were underwhelming. They were not spicy at all, and didn’t pack a ton of flavor.

Mama Hong’s used to have seating, but they moved locations and it’s only to-go orders now. I recommend calling ahead because there is usually a long wait.

If your itching for some Vietnamese cuisine in West LA, then this place will tick most of the boxes. I can’t promise you that every meal will blow your mind, but I can assure you there is something on this menu that will make you happy!

I hadn’t really come across a Vietnamese takeaway before so this was interesting. I ordered a combination of Vietnamese prawns, meats and spring rolls served on rice with salad. It was very tasty!

**This location doesn’t have dine-in, only take out!! Very quick and thoughtful service. The soup base is legit! Feels like no MSG added. Love it. The rolls are relatively average, tasted less herbal. Overall a delightful takeout experience! Will come again when craving for Vietnamese pho!

I got it delivered. It came very well packed and not too hot to melt the plastic.
The issues are first of all it was really pricey, secondly it was smaller than expected, and lastly and most importantly it was very bland. Maybe I got them on an off day but the broth tasted very watered down.

TAKE OUT ONLY (WestLA.) After a decade at the old Wilshire location, and endless site construction by their landlord, the owner decided to change his operations to take-out only. What perfect timing – then came the pandemic and UberEats DoorDash, etc..

You get the same yummy food, but for pick-up or delivered by your favorite delivery service.

For me, it’s one the best Pho places around. Authentic and tasty. I like that they know to separate the broth separately from the ingredients. Simply reheat the broth at home/work so that it’s nice and HOT (it must be hot!) Then add the ingredients.

Their beef/steak is top quality and with generous portions. It’s always BBQ’d just right. I love their steak sandwiches, their spicy fried tofu stir-fry noodles and their bun (vermicelli) with crispy Imperial rolls and your favorite proteins.

I also love the beef stew with French bread. Not too salty, just right. I usually need 2 toasted French rolls for dipping.

I usually order directly through their website, using CLOVER. Choose from WestLA (take-out only), Orange, Burbank.

This place is great! Wonderful staff and delicious food at surprising prices!

Started off with the traditional pork and shrimp spring rolls and the shrimp torpedoes (couldn’t resist with a name like that) to share. I got the classic traditional combo beef pho as with sliced steak, brisket, fatty brisket, and tendon in a size LARGE which defeated me with the quantity of it.

Also I just want to give a shoutout to the fact that I asked for extra limes and I got this massive bowl of lime wedges. Every other Vietnamese restaurant I’ve been to it’s like pulling teeth to get extra but the staff at Mama Hong’s were so generous right away!
