This is the best Mexican restaurant ever in fishers. I’ve been going here since my parents moved here back in 2001. The owners have become such great friends with us and just an amazing family overall. And don’t even get me started on the margarita…. you will think it’s delicious and won’t taste the alcohol but just wait till it sneaks up on you. My family comes here specifically for the amazing margaritas and food. This is a weekly staple in my house and will continue to be, we can’t recommend this place enough!!!!

Attentive server. Chips and salsa are outstanding. We’ve tried most menu items. Chimichanga is top notch, better than most Mexican restaurants. We’ve never had a bad experience during the 12 years we’ve visited El Camino. Highly recommend!

Hey there!

Went to El Camino Real on 116th today as a second chance kind of thing and let me tell you guys all about the experience and why we will never go back.

Walk in at 8pm, greeted by a friendly host.
Get sat.
Wait.
Wait.
Wait.
Waaaaaaaaaaaaait.
Our server finally comes and asks our drink order and if we know what we want.

Girl.

Give her our drink order and order a large queso, ask for a moment to figure out meals bc we are all indecisive.

We wait again.

Finally comes back give her our order and asked for mushrooms and onions and peppers on my food. “That’s extra”
Me- thinking it will be only like $1 maybe $2 to add the veggies, and it’s not listed anywhere how much so “oh okay that’s fine.”

Well we get our food and my son hates his, to be fair it was not the best so I asked her to take it. My daughter didn’t like her food either but they both ate some of the fries and I hardly saw the server so I didn’t ask for that to be taken off.

We do not see this server you guys. When I tell y’all like I was out of my drink for most of the meal sipping on melted ice.
I had forgotten to order a drink for my youngest and had to ask the HOST to find our server that’s how long we didn’t see her, asked her about taking my sons food back bc honestly wasn’t sure when I would see her again so I also asked for boxes.

Then

She brings the check and boxes, I’m looking over the check and wondering why
1. My food was $2 more than the listed price, it said $16 on the menu but on my check it was listed as $18
2. There was another $2 charge UNDER that

We waited for another looooong while so I decided to double check the menu bc I was confused how my order was $4 more than it was priced

The menu does not list the price of adding mushrooms anywhere on it, but apparently, to add mushrooms peppers and onions is a whole $4
An entire 8 ounces of the type of mushrooms I was served about 3 of is $2 at Walmart
One whole onion is 0.70 cents
One whole bell pepper is 0.82 cents
THATS $3.52!!!

I get it, inflation is inflatinggg but that’s like… okayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy whatever I guess?

The part that got me is I asked the server if adding veggies was really $4 and her response was a belittling and abrasive “I told you it’s extra you said go ahead add peppers too! I told you! That’s your fault!”

GIRL!!!! Be so for real.

I was legitimately taken aback and was like “um ok… that’s kind of a lot but I really wasn’t trying to argue with you or get out of paying it it’s fine”

Who I’m assuming is the manager walks up and ALSO starts immediately getting an attitude as though I was refusing to pay for it? “Well she already took your son’s food off!” Like I hadn’t just sat there for at least ten minutes just waiting to pay. I could have walked out, that’s how much they lacked presence in that dining room… but I waited patiently (which is hard when you have 3 kids and you’re by yourself) and then got yelled at and belittled for just asking for clarification.

I then tried to tell her too, while I’m seated, holding a baby, while these two women are arguing AT me from above me…and I just gave up and told her “you know all I’m saying is she could have just said ‘I’m sorry ya it’s a lot’ or something and not spoken to me like I’m an idiot”

This woman did not care at all she was literally fighting AT me bc again I was not even upset I just ASKED A QUESTION.

This is when I start getting irritated.

I gave her the wrong card, on accident, she was SO RUDE. Like for what? I forgot I had turned off that card bc of fraud like tbh that’s understandable when two women are standing over you getting attitudes at you for no good reason.
I tried to explain but she didn’t care.

Just walked over to the register angrily waiting for me to Apple Pay. I tried asking for a bag 3x bc I couldn’t get my baby 2 kids 2 boxes and a drink like??? Obviously? She was SOOO mad to have to give me a freaking bag.

Idk the whole thing has me sitting in my car crying while my kids are asking me what’s wrong and why those mean ladies hate us.

Great way to over pay on a Taco Bell quality Mexican food. Worlds smallest Chimichanga $14, watery queso $9, margarita (straight mix with virtually no tequila) $10, top it off with sub-par service. Won’t be back.

Arroz con pollo comparable to other similar restaurants. Taquitos weren’t very carefully put together so the presentation was lacking but they tasted okay. Rice is spicier than usual – I liked it, my girlfriend didn’t…just be aware.

Had a great time here! The margarita was really good and so was all of the food. The queso was really runny this time which was disappointing but normally it’s fine. The staff was very nice and they got really busy, but still were accommodating! The food is worth it at the price and there are lots of options for the whole family!

El Camino Real, had a restaurant in Noblesville that was closed due to a road improvement (a new roundabout!). So, this one in Fishers is the original and worth the drive. Love the salsa and the Chicken Chimichanga is awesome. Great place and staff that care.

Eat here on a Tuesday evening. Restaurant was pretty slow so we got right in and our server took our order right away. Service was pretty quick and our server was very attentive to us. Started out with chips, salsa, tomatillo sauce and queso cheese dip. Salsa wasn’t too hot, tomatillo was a little spicy with very good flavor. Our food, although it looked like it was just slung on our plates and out of the kitchen in a hurry, was surprisingly very tasteful. Between the two of us had chicken and steak fajitas, which honestly were a much smaller served portion than most compatible Mexican restaurants but still tasted good and ended up filling my husband up. I had a beef tostada with beans and rice. The tostada was average but I absolutely loved the beans which were so creamy and the rice that didn’t have all the extra veggies you find in a lot of recipes these days. Just good old fashioned Mexican rice, very good. I had a water and my husband had a coke to drink. Our bill was $50 without the tip. Overall the restaurant was clean, restrooms too and the service was great and quick so no complaints here.

Food has no flavor. Food looked like slop on a plate. I had to drown my food in hot sauce just for an ounce of flavor. The queso was so watery that when the waiter threw our food down, the cheese SLIPPED off the plate. At least the salsa had a little spice so that was nice.

All around my favorite Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to. I may be bias because I’ve been eating here since I was 10 but the food is to die for. Everything on the menu is great and their drink menu isn’t sparse either. In the years I’ve been going here I’ve never waited once and the people working there are all fantastic. There is both indoor and outdoor seating and if needed be you can order to go as well. Every single Mexican restaurant I go to is always compared in my mind to El Cameno.
