The NewYork style extra meaty pizza that my husband ordered was delicious, the New York style pepperoni pizza I ordered was decent it would have been better but my crust was burnt and you could taste the burnt! The wings we ordered was good. By the time we got back to our room they were closed so we couldn’t call to get it replaced.

Update:
I did take the pizza back today but of course was met with attitude from the guy with curly hair he acted as if I’m the one that give him burnt pizza not sure if he’s the owner or who but his attitude was straight trash!

The food was good. The knots were not good, they lacked flavor and whatever topping they added on it didn’t taste like much. The loaded tots were also ok, I would like to see more cheese and the bacon incorporated because it just seemed to fall off. My wife enjoyed the chicken bacon ranch sandwich. I enjoyed the BBQ pizza, although I would like to see them spread the meat out instead of just the clumps. I would eat here again, but I would skip appetizers. The entrees were more than enough food anyway.

Friday night and we didn’t plan, big mistake….usually. Happened upon Sal’s while traveling down beach road. Table was open when we entered and was seated right away. ( considering there are 4 tables ). Small bar that seats approx. 10. Friendly staff, timely service…COLD beer. We ordered the Carolina BBQ. The big guy likes a little more meat, I thought it was just right. Sauce was not overpowering, we ordered banana peppers on the side to add a little zip. They do have limited delivery area service ( good to know for future ). It appears that they do well with their carry-out, a constant stream of people getting orders. Saw large orders- 9 large pizzas to 3 small pizzas and a sandwich.
Loved the music selection. We will be back!

We are visiting from Central Florida. We LOVE pizza but never find places we love. And we LOVEDDDDD Sal’s. We took our family 7 to eat inside. It was clean and cute inside. I personally ordered a salad to start and it was HUGE. Pictures don’t do it justice. It could easily feed 4 people. It was amazing. We ordered a traditional pepperoni and a white pizza. I didn’t snag pictures because we ate it all too fast. The owner was kind and welcoming. We will visit every-time we visit the OBX. Thank you for being one of our family favorites.

Went in to make my own pizza, they said it would take around 20-30 minutes and it pretty much was like that. They have slices if you wanna just grab and go, and other options such as soup, wings, or salads. Atmosphere was nice and cozy, seats are wooden so it’s not exactly comfortable but that’s wood for ya. The pizza itself is great, nice amount of topping and great breading. Never had a NY pizza but I heard it’s thin so I assume it’s following the formula. Great place overall, check it out.

Best NY style pizza! Staff were super friendly and it’s always good when the locals are hanging out eating and drinking. Prices are very reasonable considering the pizza quality! Four cheese pizza with white sauce was the best we ever had! Great bar too to enjoy a beer waiting for your order. Highly recommend this place!!

Just arrived in OBX and needed to feed 21 people at 4:30pm… called and asked if they could help without advance notice and with no hesitation, the answer was yes! 7 pizzas, a huge family style (very fresh and beautifully made) salad and 30 minutes later, I had 20 very satisfied guests thanking me for picking this place. Service was fantastic, food was great! Will definitely be ordering wings for lunch one day before heading back home!!

Best pizza we have had in a long time! Great salad and cannolis too! Important note: they close for winter (before Thanksgiving) and don’t reopen until March. We will be back next year for sure!

Who knew you could get genuine Northeast pizza on the Outer Banks? Being a former New Yorker, now living in Chicago I pine for NY style pizza. Sal’s is spot on! Our first visit we had the Marguerite and split a eggplant parmesan sandwich…wow! They were both great. Only one week on OBX and so many restaurants—the heck with that—we went back to Sal’s a second time and that speaks loudly. This time a traditional cheese pie and a salad. Again fantastic. Sal’s is on our “must do” list for future visits.

Reasonable prices, limited seating, and a bar if that grabs you. It would also be great for takeout as pizzas travel well.

The staff were great. Eric came over and checked on us each visit. Here I am writing, back in Chicago, and I miss Sal’s already. It’s back to Midwest pizza.
