TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

The chicken was delicious!! I wasn’t impressed with the service at first but it got a little better. And the atmosphere is pretty cool. Basic table chair setup but the walls had there logo and a bunch of cool graffiti type art. I enjoyed my overall experience will definitely go again.

Waow! I had never visited a Dave’s Hot before. I’m totally sold – the taste was phenomenal. I ordered original “hot” & did not stop eating until I had devoured everything. They are very tongue-in-cheek about portion sizes – a “slider” is actually a huge succulent sandwich. That tongue-tingling taste tempts & tantalizes ‘til the last morsel. It was after 10 pm on a Monday night & everything was made-to-order and perfectly fresh. Staff carefully explained all the options in detail – very helpful & friendly. Loved the colorful, hand-painted street tag decor & vibe. A++

I will say, it takes me ALOT to leave a review somewhere, whether good or bad. This was truly the best chicken I have ever had in my entire life, and I’m not even exaggerating. The people in the front and the back were so nice and helped me pick what chicken heat level to get. The atmosphere was chefs kiss. All around the vibes were amazing and so was the food. The place was very clean. Definitely will be coming back whenever I’m in Springfield. I’m so surprised they weren’t busier, honestly I stopped at Chick-fil-A before for my son and was just dumbfounded at how busy Chick-fil-A was but not this place. Personally I feel it should be the other way around.

I was working in Peoria, IL this week and noticed that Dave’s Hot Chicken had recently opened a location in Springfield, IL. On my way back home to St. Louis, I decided to stop by and pick some up for my wife and me—we both love the place.
I’m currently on a diet until June, but I couldn’t resist ordering mine to freeze for later (yes, I know ). Since we don’t have a Dave’s nearby, I have to take advantage when I can!
I ordered ahead through the app, knowing it would likely be busy with the location just opening a couple of weeks ago. When I arrived, I was immediately greeted with a warm, “Welcome to Dave’s.” I headed to the counter, and my food was ready right on time.
This location was a bit larger than others I’ve visited, which was a pleasant surprise. There was plenty of waiting area and indoor seating with tables and chairs.
As always, the food was absolutely amazing. I’ll be back in Peoria again for work in a couple of weeks, and you can bet I’ll be stopping by on my way home again.

I haven’t got to eat here yet because I’m not from Springfield but I was here 4 days before they were opening. I pulled to take a couple pictures for Google not realizing it wasn’t even open to the public yet. An employee met us at the door and said that May 1st was their soft opening, but I wasn’t going to be able to make it back to town, so I asked him if I could take a few pictures thru the window. The young man actually went inside and got the manager, and the manager welcomed us into the building. They were doing training but he said I could come in and take a few pictures, which was pretty darn cool! This is actually the first time I’ve ever been in a Dave’s Hot Chicken, and I have to say this is one of the coolest looking restaurants that I’ve seen! I absolutely loved all the graffiti on the walls and the decorations. Looks like they were just kind of finishing up their training, so we were able to talk to a couple of the employees, they were so polite including the manager who was entertaining my husband and son while I took a couple pictures! My son is super excited to eat here soon! They even gave him a little rubber chicken, which he loved!! He’s really excited about that and we’re definitely looking forward to coming back and trying the food! I just thought that was really awesome that they let me in to be able to take some pictures for a Google review and I’m looking very much forward to going back and trying out the food since I’ve never had it before. I’ll see you guys soon!

First time visiting Dave’s. Took my chicken and tenders to go. Service was slow (about 15 minutes), but the food was hot when I reached home. The chicken and fries were delicious, though next time I’ll order mild heat rather then medium. The honey really helped to offset the heat. Dave’s is somewhat expensive for this type of restaurant, but the quality and large portions make it worth it.

Justin was super professional and very helpful! Asked us if we needed any extra additions, made sure our order was right, and even brought it to the table for us! Between him and Liz, they checked in on us to make sure we didn’t get 2nd degree burns from scarfing down the piping hot food! Amazing improvement! Delicious, friendly, clean, and great place for great food!

Friendly staff and very good chicken. I’ve had the mild up to hot and they are all very very good. The hot (not the hottest) will be spicy enough for most people I would imagine. The strips by themselves are awesome the sandwiches are super too. I usually dont like crinkle cut fries but they have probably the best crinkle cut fry I’ve had. Sorry no photos I ate it i was hungry lol

We tried it all Not Chicken Reaper, Not Chicken Medium, Dave’s Tenders, Sliders, and Bites from Reaper to Mild.
The food temperature and heat flavor were spot on and fantastic.
Continued polite, helpful, and engaged staff made this and multiple visits worth my $ and time.
If Abe ate Hot Chicken, this would be it!
