Amazing food! Oxtail was tender mac & cheese was delicious and creamy. The cabbage was the best part of the rice and the beans were perfectly made plantain was sweet and perfectly cooked. Everything was good. I end up eating there two times in a row and I pretty much eat there 2 to 3 times out of them. I highly recommend this restaurant the best Jamaican food in Central Texas.

Despite being a food truck, the owners at JB Fireside deliver true hospitality – from the first phone call to pickup. It’s hands down my favorite food truck in Central Texas!
The food is always fresh, plentiful, and full of flavor. My husband and I order at least once a month, and we’ve never had a bad order. Our go-to is the oxtail plate – perfectly seasoned, tender oxtails with rice and peas, cabbage, and plantains. The jerk wings are a must as well!
And I can’t forget – I always order extra plantains because they’re that good. Sweet, perfectly textured, and cooked just right every time.

Seen card at Killeen Volkswagon so I told my hubby let’s try. I was very disappointed. I had the Curry chicken with cabbage, rice & peas , and plantains. It was very dry too many bones less chicken. Loads of rice and peas. Plantains wasn’t sweet very dry. Hubby had Curry goat with same sides. He had few bites and said this trash. For the cost not worth it. Ordered a beef patty to receive a microwave patty and it wasn’t cheap. We will not be going back. We will take that drive to Royal Caribbean who is cheaper and better. They have freshly made beef patties.

The food was authentic, one of the best I’ve had around here! I must say, no other oxtails compare to how flavorful and meaty these are. The curry goat is so fresh and tender it doesn’t even require much chewing! I also ask for plantains because what’s is a Jamaican dish without them and I’m proud to say they did not disappoint. That fresh sorrel was to die for the purest I’ve had since I’ve been in Texas!!! Thank You JB fireside for a wonderful first time experience, get use ready to get use to me 🙂

They were so rude. I spoke even I approached the truck and was ignored. I preordered and asked for curry sauce on the side, they didn’t do that. When I asked about it the owner/worker said “I don’t know about that” then shoved my food to me and closed the window.
The cook in the back was even more rude. Shouting, “I put it in the rice”. Well my instruction was to put it on the side in case I didn’t like it. Well, I didn’t like it. It was gritty no sauce, clumpy.
Due to the rudeness of this place, I will be trashing this food and go to Jamaica Nyammingz Restaurant where I should’ve went In the first place. I know their food and quality of service.

This place is THE BEST food truck around. No one else can beat it. I’m absolutely hooked on their food. The service is kind and friendly and the atmosphere is lively. The food is just the best on top of everything there. The curry goat, rice and peas and Mac and cheese is amazing. The home made lemonade hits the spot on a hot day like today. Get yours too!!!!

Very nice and clean space, I got the brown stew chicken and my mom got the curry chicken. Both were very tender, great flavor. Cabbage was fresh and portions are huge! I also got the pineapple ginger juice-so good!! The owner was very kind, will definitely be back

We had jerk chicken, large oxtail plate, jerk wings, Mac n cheese, and a pineapple ginger drink. Staff was very nice. Portions were large. Food was well seasoned. Oxtail had plenty of gravy for the rice and peas. Plantains were good. Pineapple ginger drink has STRONG ginger flavor which I love, but may not be for everyone. Good spot I will go to again for the jerk chicken and oxtail when I’m in the area.

After church I stopped by JB Fireside for the first time, and let me tell you. I ate and drank GOOD! The jerk chicken was flavorful and tender, the cabbage was cooked just right, and those plantains were so good. The house drink was refreshing and hit the spot.
