Custard Castle has been my favorite ever since 1972. The new owners came in this year and are doing a fabulous job. They have made numerous improvements inside and out. The ice cream quality remained the same and has not changed. They added homemade waffles and ice cream and coffee to the menu. Best I ever had, must try it! The prices are reasonable and the staff is always friendly.

Good price! We went around dusk and got a soft serve and a frozen yogurt. It was pretty great! There are even dairy free options for people that can’t have it but still want a treat.

Update! We were really craving ice cream and custard Castle is open again for the summer and it’s still delicious! I had a chocolate and vanilla soft serve swirl this time and it was pretty good.

Worst rip off ever! small ice cream says 5.45 on their menu yet 2 cost me over 13$ some how… oh and I ate it in like 5 bites it was extremely small. Great place to come with your kids and have them get hit by a car!

Great place to get delicious ice cream! I travel 45 mins to enjoy the best ice cream ever!
The staff is friendly and caring and the new owner and his family all work together to please everyone’s needs. It is family friendly. So nice to see small family owned businesses thrive!
My favorite is always chocolate but had vanilla last time and it was to die for!

Stopped at Custard Castle in Mays Landing for the first time after driving past it countless times—and I’m glad I finally did! We ordered two Blizzards and they were excellent—creamy, packed with mix-ins, and full of flavor. I will say the large seemed a bit smaller than expected, but it didn’t take away from the experience. Service was quick, the staff was friendly, and the classic roadside ice cream stand vibe made it even better. Definitely worth the stop if you’re in the area!

I don’t think their product is special compared to other places. It tastes good, but I don’t necessarily think that it pushes the bar. It’s just exactly what you would expect from an outdoor ice cream location. If you are in the area, I can recommend stopping by. They have a decent selection. I will warn that it may be difficult to get here if you are on the wrong side of the road. Legally, you aren’t supposed to make turns from the other side. If you are heading towards Mays Landing, there is a exit that you can take that will let you drive on the overpass and then immediately exit onto the other lane right in front of Custard Castle. If you are exiting Custard Castle and want to drive to Mays Landing, there isn’t a legal turn for awhile.

The service was warm and friendly and the ice cream was actually very good. The only problem I had was that it cost $5 more to go there and then the one on route 50 in egg Harbor City which is called Custer’s corner. That is where I usually go because if they are warm and friendly you get to know them year after year and their prices are better.

The custard is great as always but the last few times I’ve been there the soft serve has not had good texture from not getting cold enough. Disappointing when the cone can’t really stand upright.

Great Ice Cream Stand! The staff was super friendly and kind, especially to my young kids. Enjoyable soft serve and water ice. Would definitely go back.
