The ambience in the restaurant is magical. It is a perfect place for family and friends to dine. The food is of great taste and texture with world class presentation. The Chefs are very skilled with the variety menu choices from appetizers to entrées. I had mouth watering lamb chops cooked to perfection. I would recommend this place anytime.

First time here to check out the food. My buddy said the lamb chops looked amazing and that the wings were delicious. Unfortunately, they didnt have lamb chops tonight but they gave me pork instead and it was very tender, well seasoned. This and the samosas were my favorite items! My son ordered the steak and it was delicious. Everything came out hot and fresh, our wait time was about 15 to 20 mins. The restaurant was clean as well as the bathrooms. We watched the Seahawks vs the Rams. I like how they have a bar on the other side, but the ability to watch the game on the restaurant side. Our server was great and very helpful. I will definitely come back to try the tilapia and lamb chops! The only menu item that wasn’t my favorite was the kale, but that is because I prefer kale not chopped and only lightly sautéed. Parking was great and the atmosphere was inviting.

Came back for the lamb chops and yeah this 2nd time around. Coconut beans! And Pialu rice with lamb chops. Delicious!!! I’ll be back for the tilapia with these two sides. Really enjoyed my meal!!

Kenyan restaurant in lakewood Washington. Very spacious. Offers ample parking. The food is delicious. Order as soon as you walk on since food takes time to prepare but well worth the wait.

The BEST lamb chops I’ve ever eaten! I’m moving to Kenya later this year so I was so happy to find an authentic Kenyan restaurant right here in Lakewood. The chef makes his own spice blends. Came for a wonderful Valentines celebration with my wonderful husband. Can’t wait to return. The staff is very welcoming and educated me on the menu. My only find is that it takes a long time for your food to come out. It was worth the wait!

I was honestly surprised—and so happy—to discover that we have our very own restaurant like Shujaa right here in Lakewood. The ambiance was excellent from the moment we walked in—calming, welcoming, and beautifully set up.

Ima served us and did an amazing job. She explained the menu in detail, was very knowledgeable, and presented everything so well. Her service truly elevated the experience.

The restaurant has such a peaceful atmosphere, and I would absolutely bring my kids here for both lunch and dinner. The setup is great, the bathrooms are very clean, and the staff is friendly, professional, and easy to work with.

I truly hope they continue to prosper—this is such a strong and impressive start. Lakewood is lucky to have Shujaa.

Visited for the first time last night and really enjoyed the experience. It’s spacious with great ambience, and the DJ was a vibe. Parking was easy, and the bathrooms were impressively clean, which always stands out to me. We sat at the bar.
Service was very slow, but I’m giving grace since this was during their soft-launch period. We ordered fries, samosas, and sausages. The samosas were spicier than expected, and the fries were a bit too salty, but nothing that can’t be easily adjusted.
I’m genuinely happy to support and promote a Black-owned immigrant business. This place has so much potential to become a vibrant, welcoming community space, and I’m excited to see how it continues to grow.

The food was the real star of the evening. Every dish was bursting with rich, authentic flavor, from the perfectly spiced stews to the tender grilled meats and freshly made chapati. Portions were generous without sacrificing presentation; each plate looked as good as it tasted. I especially loved how the flavors were bold but well-balanced, with just the right amount of heat and seasoning to let the ingredients shine.
