Was in the area for a volunteer event. Someone at the event recommended this place. I’m super picky with island food because it can be so hit or miss and some things just aren’t authentic. But not this place! The ambiance was cool. It was a bit slow so it was quiet. There were only 2 people at the bar. The guy that took my order was cool. I ordered brown stew snapper, rice & peas, cabbage and a side of plantain. When I tell you that the snapper was so damn good!!! I’m writing this as I just finished my plate. I had an hour commute home before I was able to dig in. Everything was still so fresh. I will definitely be back to try other options on the menu.

Stopped in with my client and was greeted upon entrance, which is always the best start. We decided to dine in, and both got the jerk chicken sandwich. I also got a side of rice and peas. I go to Jamaica at least twice a year and was there 3 weeks ago, so I consider myself quite experienced with the cuisine. The sandwich was delicious and the portion was more than expected. I love that they use coco bread! The rice and peas could have used salt, but other than this, it was tasty as well. I will definitely return because I enjoy good food, so it will be my mission to try other offerings. Way to go Oasis Island Pride, you won me over!

Boy oh Boy I was not pleased with this food at all. My husband and I love authentic island cuisine and I’m sorry but this was not it. Jerk Chicken is supposed to be smoked with bone in chicken not grilled chicken with a bit of sauce on top. Greens are completely nasty no flavor whatsoever, barely any flavor/seasoning on the cabbage. Plantains should be cooked a bit longer and have some color to them like darker in color. Omg the rice and peas the absolute worse taste like cheap box rice again not much flavor. My first and last time going there not to mention they messed the order up both plates should have had rice only one should have cabbage. My husband and I are both sitting here with stomach aches.

Fantastic Jamaican spot! Giant dining room or a cozy bar by the entrance with a pool table to give you a choice of atmosphere. Food is absolutely fantastic! Juicy, fresh, and jerk has a perfect kick to it.

This place is great! We got the jerk chicken with rice & peas and stir fried cabbage, and the jerk chicken pasta! Both were very delicious! The service was also very good and the staff was friendly and attentive. We will definitely come back 🙂

I want to express my appreciation for the exceptional dining experience I had on my birthday at your restaurant. The food was outstanding, and my friends and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. I was particularly grateful to Ms. Joan for organizing my likkle gathering and to Juju, our waitress, for her exceptional service. Her kindness and attention to detail made our evening truly memorable.

I must say that this restaurant has become my go-to spot for authentic Jamaican cuisine in Maryland. If you’re looking for a taste of the REAL deal, I highly recommend this place!!!!!!

Oxtail is absolutely incredible, one of the best I’ve had and also a full portioned bowl. My only complaint is about the chicken patty, barely had any chicken in there and it was very dry. I’d definitely come back for the oxtail.

I just happened to stop in this place cause I was real hungry and just wanted to find some place that was open and not fast food. Plus I wanted to stop at a place that was close to where I was in the area.

I ordered the curry chicken with cabbage and rice & peas as my sides. I also got a side order of plantains.

It took me 40 min to get home and I couldn’t wait to eat. I didn’t even heat up the food. I took one forkful and the taste was so delicious I was amazed. Even cold this food was so good. It had the right amount of flavor, gravy and chunks of chicken (not all bone like most Caribbean places). The cabbage didn’t even need vinegar and the plantains were perfectly ripe.

Then came the drink. It was actually real homemade fruit punch. At $4 a bottle I thought it was pretty pricey but once I tasted it, I see it was worth the price.

I wish I didn’t live so far away, otherwise this would be my regular Caribbean food spot. When I want to treat myself. I will definitely take that 40 minutes drive.

The place remind me my hometown restaurants in the Caribbean(they make coco bread! I will try that next time). The food was good, very tasty (I ordered a Turkey for Thanksgiving and it was prepared with great seasoning, stuffing and all the sauces). Staff was very friendly and enjoyed the visit.

Great Jamaican spot !

Real authentic Jamaican style food even with the seasonings and spices are prepared .

They are heavy with the sauce but food is still good.
