Very nice environment, well decorated. If it was slightly warmer out, I would’ve enjoyed sitting out by the fire. This place is a little more pricey than I would normally visit, but our waitress was super nice and helpful on recommendations.
Appetizer: Potato chip nachos
– Very good when hot. You really needed to eat them quickly. They got soggy and less appealing when cooled.
My entree: Trout Meuniere
– Excellent. Full of flavor and cooked to perfection. I would recommend for sure.
Sister’s entree: Skirt Steak Chimi
– Also very good, but we both agree the trout was better. The steak was also cooked to the specifications she asked for.
Desert- Donuts
– Melt in your mouth delicious.
I tried a couple of their frescas, but really didn’t like them.
I probably would not visit here again due to the cost, but it was a nice experience to visit with my sister, visiting from Paris, France.

My fiancée took a chance on this spot for my birthday because we’ve never been here before. All I can say is we were overly satisfied. I can not complain, AT ALL! We also got a free desert (they do this special for birthdays). This is such an amazing spot. The food was made fresh to order. The atmosphere was absolutely wonderful. The waiters/staff were perfect. Everything was perfect. We had an amazing server. Sadly I can’t remember his name but he made sure we were straight. Thank y’all! We will most definitely be back!

Super cool experience in such a unique place with both indoor and outdoor seating. There were plenty of space teachers going so none of us were chilly in mid December. We were a party of nine and I think one of the girls made reservations. If you are a big party, call ahead to make sure they can make space for you. Otherwise there’s plenty of smaller tables, outdoor seating, picnic tables, and even bar seating.
We had a great time celebrating with drinks and appetizers, plus everybody ordered a main. Definitely try the bologna sandwich or the bison burger. Confusion fries are a delicious blend of square cut home fry potato and square cut sweet potato grilled with onions and peppers so it made for a delicious sweet and savory side. Portion sizes were great and everyone enjoyed themselves.

Wow. I was pleasantly surprised! We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed! I expected long wait times and perhaps even my order being messed up. However, everything was great. My food can quickly, the order was exact, and it was delicious. We ordered the Mexican Ceviche, Fried Bologna Sandwich, and the Ribeye Benedict. They were all really good. We also had the Strawberry Basil Aguas Frescas. We enjoyed each item and hope to go back one day.

Friendly service. We had their ceviche sampler – delicious! We enjoyed a pisco sour – tasted exactly like we had in Peru – delicious. I had their baked sweet potato with chicken – good but HUGE! My husband had their grilled bologna sandwich and said it was delicious.

The ceviche was great! We liked the outdoor seating although it was blistering hot that day. The chimmichuri steak was excellent. Service though was a different story. We waited much longer than what they told us initially which is difficult with hungry kids. When we finally got seated it took a while to be serviced. We ordered drinks twice and they were out of ingredients to fulfill the order. We may have just caught them at a weird time, but that should not matter if you run a restaurant. Probably won’t go back anytime soon but like I mentioned, the food was great!

This place serves some of the best grilled dishes! Every single item we tried was full of flavor. Even the mac and cheese we ordered for our kid was yum – not greasy.
We loved the lamb kebabs and chicken plancha – well-seasoned, and grilled just right.
Our server recommended cheesecake for dessert, and it was phenomenal.
The restaurant offers plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors.

We stopped at State of Confusion when we arrived in Chattanooga for our Thanksgiving vacation. We were greeted by Julius and seated promptly. We love State of Confusion for their dog friendliness. We sat outside and Julius even brought a bowl of water for our dog. Julius was attentive and a ray of sunshine. The food was delicious. My husband had the House Burger, my son had the Jambalaya, which he said was good but could be spicier. Julius did provide hot sauce for him. I had the Grilled Chicken Sandwich. My only complaint was the fries were very salty. Otherwise we enjoyed the amazing service provided by Julius and the delicious food and drink.

I had such a fun experience at State of Confusion! The vibe and aesthetic of the place are gorgeous, definitely a spot that makes you want to stay awhile. Service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and quick, which made everything even better.
Food & drinks:
Hibiscus Mule: 10/10 — refreshing, perfectly balanced, and honestly one of the best cocktails I’ve had.
Street Corn: Absolute must-try! Flavorful, smoky, and covered in cheese, definitely a 10/10.
Guacamole: Tasty but not mind-blowing, I’d give it a 7/10. The plantain chips were unfortunately a little stale, which took away from the experience.
Chicken Plate: The flavors were amazing and super well-seasoned, though a touch too salty for me personally. Still really yummy overall!
Overall, I’d definitely come back for the drinks, corn, and atmosphere alone. A beautiful spot with great energy and delicious food.

Delicious food and fun atmosphere! I had the Plancha Chicken (photo) and my husband had the Skirt Steak Chimi- both were amazing! We finished it off with the hot beignets! So yummy! Our waitress was Malorie and was very chill. Would definitely go again!
