Chima Steakhouse named after chimarrao, a traditional drink of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, that symbolizes hospitality and friendship-certainly lives up to its name. Legend has it, in South Brazil traditional gauchos (cowboys) would consume a diet that consisted almost entirely of beef. The meat was seasoned, placed on skewers, and slow cooked over a wood burning flame. Historically, gauchos were known for their generosity and hospitality.

We reserved this restaurant for my birthday, they totally exceeded my expectations. The ambience was soft and romantic the service was top notch and the food was delicious. My favorite meats were the sausage, picanha and sirloin. The grilled pineapple was delicious as well. They also gave me a slice of cheesecake and sang happy birthday! The piece of chocolate says Anniversary b/c they ran out of birthday, but that was okay…lol I would definitely go back in the future.

We were there last night for my boyfriend’s birthday and it was fantastic. It was our first time eating Rodizio. The Gauchos were so gracious and friendly. The meats are sooo tender, and our server Madra was really great. The meal was perfect, totally perfect and the atmosphere was exactly right.

What truly made the experience exceptional was our waiter, Oscar. He was incredibly attentive, super sweet, funny, and very personable. He stayed on top of everything without being overbearing and made us feel genuinely welcomed.

I absolutely love Chima for special occasions and have been several times. Every visit has been amazing with consistently excellent service, but my most recent experience truly stood out. Diego, who was serving the meats, was incredibly personable and such a joy to talk to. He has a great personality and made sure we enjoyed every part of our meal. Our main server, Sophi, was also fantastic—very attentive and professional. Sophi and Diego really made our anniversary feel extra special and are the reason I felt compelled to write this review. They turned a great night into a truly memorable one!

I took my boyfriend to Chima Steakhouse for his birthday…oh boy. This man was SO happy. We tried everything, and literally all of it was divine. As if the food wasn’t amazing, the service is perfection. He couldn’t get enough of the shrimp and the grilled pineapple. We keep trying to come up with good excuses to go back. This place is a must-visit for both Charlotte locals and visitors alike.

We hadn’t planned to eat here but decided to stop in after seeing the sign and the great reviews. We came for dinner on a weekend and waited about 30–40 minutes for a table. The salad bar offered a wide variety of options, and servers continuously brought different cuts of meat until we were full. Our favorites were the filet mignon, beef ribs, lamb chops and the bacon-wrapped mignon—everything was perfectly grilled and full of flavor. The customer service was excellent; the staff made us feel welcome and ensured we were satisfied throughout our meal. On the website, the full dinner meal is listed at $66 per person, but desserts are not included and come at an additional cost if ordered. Overall, it was a delicious and enjoyable dining experience.

We celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary here, and what an experience! A true meat lover’s paradise — every cut was juicy and full of flavor. Shrimp, steak, lamb and chicken! The sides need some work (mashed potatoes were more like soup), but the bread was amazing. Huge shoutout to our server Chris who was friendly, attentive, and made the night extra special. We’ll definitely be back!
