Friday night was my 4th visit since the switchover, and what a huge improvement it is!! The food and service have been consistently great. Burgers are always tasty and massive. The pork shank with mashed potatoes was divine. The bartender also took time out of her busy night to walk me through parts of the menu and even brought me a poster with a rebate that was being offered for the beer I chose. Truly the best service I’ve had in Ketchikan. They have my business indefinitely! (I’m going back tonight )

The Portside Pub & Grill was excellent. A group of friends went there after a day of deep sea fishing. The food was great, the location was very convenient, and the atmosphere was fun. I was surprised by how impressive the menu was at still reasonable prices.
I would definitely come here again. I would recommend the Wagyu sliders. The bacon jam is delicious.

I ate at the Portside Pub on their opening night. I immediately loved the vibe of the entire restaurant! The theme was so fun and I loved all the details. The food was stunning when it came out and I was relieved that it also tasted AMAZING! The portions for the price is perfect! I left very full and very happy! There was one small hiccup with my side being the wrong thing but the staff took care of it immediately. All staff were so friendly and I CAN’T wait to eat here again

Literally 30 feet from my hotel room on the 2nd floor so ate here frequently. Overall great atmosphere for a local bar feeling. Staff was mostly great, best was ‘Cyra’ (sp?). Some of the food was fantastic, including the hummus and chicken wings. But the chowder, and the Greek wrap were bland. Three nights in a row didn’t have the rubber, which is a bit weird to advertise something you don’t have.

I have to give a huge shout‑out to Nat, the bartender she’s incredible. From the moment you walk in, she notices you right away, even when she’s busy. She always acknowledges you with a smile and makes sure you know she’ll be with you soon. That kind of attentiveness and professionalism means a lot to me. She’s quick, friendly, and really knows how to take care of her customers honestly one of the best bartenders I’ve ever met.
And AJ in the kitchen deserves credit too — even when I come in late after work, he’s always happy to whip something up without hesitation. It really shows how much this place values great service and hospitality.
Nat and the whole Portside Grill crew make every visit enjoyable. Highly recommend this spot you’ll always leave happy

Service was standard. That’s not my complaint. My complaint is that the new owners took a decent place to terrible. Someone with a new vision took a functioning consistent restaurant and found the cheapest Cysco or US Foods frozen garbage, put it on the menu then raised the rates and renamed the restaurant. Slapped on some depressing paint – which is dark for this area, and said come on in, we made it better. It’s not. The steak fries are dried out, crummy potato wedges, which probably lost its moisture to the onion rings, which had so much oil in them it’s amazing I didn’t need a transplant after eating one. We ordered three items, and sadly, whatever the third item was, was so bland or terrible I couldn’t remember what it was which says a lot for the other two simple but awful items that we ordered. If you get the cup of brown crayons with the broken red and blue single crayon, things have probably not improved. Also, the Diner at the Landing can’t seem to figure out the ordering process because they ran out at breakfast. Breakfast place, give me a break, the grocery store is next door.

The food at Portside is excellent and worth the trip. The dinner menu is limited but I, who love cioppino and bouillabaisse, had one of the best tasting cioppinos I’ve had. It had two good size pieces of salmon, white rock fish, three large shrimp, but I asked them to hold the mussels which I don’t care for. It also had vegetables, baby octopus and calamari. Likewise the Caesar Salad was excellent, and my Irish Coffee was made well. It’s very much like a sports bar with a large bar, tv’s and a comfortable lounge. Parking is not a problem and they’re open until 11 pm (kitchen until 10:30 pm. It’s a very good restaurant and recommended.

My dining experience at The Landing Upstairs, Jeremiah’s, was quite a mixed bag. Let’s begin with the positive aspect – the food. It was nothing short of exceptional. The Monte Cristo and fries were a symphony of delicious flavors that could only be described as perfection. In addition, the bacon-wrapped scallops was also quite enjoyable, leaving a savory aftertaste that lingered on the palate.
However, there were a few shortcomings that prevented this dining experience from reaching its full potential. Firstly, I must express my disappointment with the prime rib. Although I ordered it cooked to a perfect medium-rare, it was served closer to medium-well. The slightly overcooked nature detracted from the tenderness I had anticipated, leaving me yearning for a more precise execution.
The table was dirty and much to our horror the waiter used his filthy booger-picking hands to just wipe the food onto the floor
Furthermore, I must acknowledge the sluggish service that plagued our visit. Regrettably, we found ourselves spending a lofty two hours in the restaurant, with the bulk of that time dedicated to waiting. For an hour prior to receiving our food, we were left idling, eagerly anticipating the arrival of our dishes. This extended period of waiting undoubtedly affected our overall satisfaction with the experience.
In summary, while The Landing showcased its culinary prowess in some aspects, such as the delectable Monte Cristo and the tantalizing bacon-wrapped scallops, it fell short in key areas. The prime rib not being cooked to the desired medium and the sluggish service left a blemish on an otherwise promising dining experience. So, although the positives were praiseworthy, the aforementioned negatives should be taken into account when considering a visit to The Landing.

I had a Cobb salad and it hit the spot. The waiter was friendly but wasn’t really about providing good service. I sat for a long time before getting a drink refill and even longer to get my check. Just not very attentive.
