My wife and I arrived a little after 4pm on Saturday, 11/29/25. Although the restaurant was moderately busy, we were seated right away. Our server, Morgan, took our drink order moments after we were seated and returned promptly with our drinks and some complimentary hush puppies. We ordered fried pickles as an appetizer and they came out quickly.
I ordered the 2-item fried platter with Salt & Peppered Alaskan Whitefish, and Fried Oysters with a side of French fries. It also included Cole Slaw. The portion size was very generous with 3 large pieces of fish and 8 Fried Oysters. My wife ordered the Fetticine Alfredo with a House Salad (No Bacon) with Ranch Dressing. It was served with 2 pieces of Cheese Bread. It was also a very generous portion size.
Our server, Morgan, was very attentive, polite, and professional and had a very friendly demeanor. She checked in on us multiple times throughout our visit and kept our drinks full.
The food all tasted great and we enjoyed it thoroughly. We had a lot left after we were full and we brought it home in the complimentary “to go” boxes.
We had a very pleasant visit and look forward to coming back in the future.

Such a disappointment. I got the Captains Platter and it was gross. Soaking wet, small piece of wet fish, the shrimp were dirty, didn’t even eat this food aside from the hush puppies which were tasty. Tried the stuffed crab and it tasted old unfortunately.
My husband got the snapper and he liked it.
Our food came with a basic salad which was not really stated on the online menu but no options for what goes on it so we got salads topped with bacon and cheese which we do not eat.

I liked the theme of the restaurant, and even though it was an EXTREMELY busy night for them, the wait wasn’t too bad.
Our waitress was helpful and attentive.
My guest and I both enjoyed our menu choices, and the portions were “PLENTIFUL!” So, after stuffing ourselves with food there that night, we still had plenty of food left on our plates to take home with us for a future meal.

Had the broiled shrimp platter which was not broil or grilled looked to be pan fried, had a weird seasoning on it. also the she Crab Soup had, quite a bit of shells in it from the crab it was very bland tasting,

I haven’t been to Captain Steve’s in many years and it’s unfortunate. Because this place has fantastic food and the place is beautifully kept and decorated. The seafood was so fresh and delicious. We shared a seafood platter and still had leftovers. Our waitress Savannah was awesome! She was so friendly and attentive and cheerful! She deserves a raise If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Will definitely be back. I’m sorry it’s taking me so long to venture back to Fort Mill but it’s worth the trip from Chester!

Had some time to kill before my flight and my friend suggested this place and I’m glad she did. That captains platter was DELICIOUS! It comes with soooo much food that I ate off it twice the next day. The hush puppies are good well!!! I love a good coleslaw and theirs did not disappoint. Our server was sweet. The only small smidget was that we waited a while before our food came out. Other than that, I’d def go back when I’m in town.

This is the best seafood restaurant I have found since I went to Louisiana. Great home cooking and a southern take on excellent seafood. Honestly the best fried oysters and scallops I’ve ever had. Everything was delicious. I will be back to try the broiled next time! Thanks Captain Steve’s!

First time at Captain Steve’s, and it was insanely delicious!! The wait to be seated was so worth it, and the food was cooked to perfection. Our server, Marissa, was a champ! She had the perfect amount of check-ins and was genuinely kind and attentive. Will definitely stop again the next time I visit South Carolina.

Captain Steve’s is a true nostalgic experience. It reminds me of going to Myrtle Beach with my parents as a kid. The food is absolutely delicious, home style comfort fresh food. Friendly servers in a clean, welcoming environment… perfect for a casual night out. We loved it.
