I visited this place in search of a NYC bagel. I can tell you, it’s chewy, soft AND HUGE. The bagel will get you stuffed like a turkey (LOL). A single plain bagel is $1.50. Overall good quality for the price. It’s not NYC STYLE but enjoyable all the same.

I come here on Sunday after a night out, excited to show my out of town friends my towns bagels. Not only do they give me my bagels NOT toasted they are also missing the EGG on a Bacon EG and cheese sandwich. Then they ring me up for one bacon egg and cheese bagel, one bagel with cream cheese, and a Gatorade and it comes out to 20 DOLLARS??? AND I DIDN’T EVEN NOTICE UNTIL I GOT HOME BECAUSE THEY SCAMMED ME AND DIDN’T SHOW THE PRICE. NEVER GO HERE THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. I WANT MY MONEY BACK

I usually come to this place and have had decent experiences in the past. However, my most recent visit was disappointing. It was late and close to closing time, so I asked specifically if it was okay to place an order for an egg and cheese roll, and I was told yes.
When I received my order, the cheese was not melted at all, and the staff member handled the roll directly with her bare hands. That was really off-putting and not acceptable from a food safety or service standpoint.
I understand that working late can be tiring and that everyone wants to go home, but providing proper service and basic hygiene is part of the job. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I don’t think I’ll be coming back.

Yes, the bagles are one of the best around however, this is the third time my to-go order has been messed up. The counter lady writes down the order correctly, i cheked to make sure they get it right this time, but it still gets prepared wrong. How do you confuse onion with lettuce, tosted with not tosted etc.?

Came in, ordered a sesame seed bagel with scallion cream cheese and bacon, toasted dark. Walked out, took a couple of bites, and then discovered a disgusting long thread of hair in my food.
I went back in and made a scene. Told the owner they need to invest in decent hairnets for their staff because this is completely unacceptable. He refunded my very hairy purchase, which I appreciate, but the whole interaction was heated and uncomfortable. He was extremely angry, visibly shaking, with his hands clenched like he was ready to pounce, clearly not happy about being called out in front of other customers.
Do yourself a favor and check your food before you walk out.
Full disclosure, this was my second time ordering from them. The first time I got the exact same order and everything was perfect, which makes this experience even more disappointing.

7/13/23 Disrespected the shmear. Too bad I didn’t see until I got to the airport. Everything bagel was stale. Just overall not good. The onion bagel was not stale however there was even less shmear on the second one. If you’re looking for a good shmear this is not the place. There was no love in this relic of an establishment. I should have just gotten a bagel at the airport. Will not return.

Went there yesterday morning 11/20/2025 with my wife as we always do, first off the one lady that works behind the counter is always in a bad mood and constantly messes up our order. Everytime we go they make up the prices and we pay a different amount each time for the same items. We have found hairs in our bagels a few times. The worst thing was when we went to sit down at a table, my wife looked down and saw a dead mouse where she was about to sit. We notified the staff of the dead mouse and was told to sit at a different table not even seeming concerned. The guy who is in the back making the bagels came out and swept it up without cleaning the area or washing his hands. (He handles bagels with his bare hands). The mouse sat in the dust pan in the front waiting to be thrown out. The manager came out and started looking behind the chip display and the cabinets to ensure no more were found. Being absolutely disgusted by this I attempted to talk to the so called manager and he just kept blaming COVID and stating they have a mouse problem in the ceiling that they can’t get control of. He was no help and offered us absolutely nothing to resolve the incident not even an apology. This was absolutely disgusting and we will not be returning back. I would advise everyone to really think before you step foot in this establishment. This is serious health violation and can get people sick.

Well based off of everybody else’s reviews it seems that the possible problem with this place is getting orders wrong or perhaps leading one to believe what they’re ordering is what they’re going to get. My issue is that I ordered a panini and last time I checked when you get a panini usually there’s grill marks on it from the press and it comes in a harder more crispy type of bread. I ordered a panini from here and it came in like a big fluffy Pita type of bread folded in half. And it’s not that it tasted bad because it was okay but it’s definitely not what I would think of when I picture a panini. The inside of the restaurant is very spacious and is very clean. But once again I probably should heed my own review since I went to a bagel shop and ordered a panini LOL. It’s a deli but let’s face it this is a bagel shop. So if you want a hot cup of coffee and a delicious Bagel then I have no doubt that this is the place to go. If you want a panini or a healthy salad or some sort of bizarre sandwich then you should probably go to Panera Bread.

Terrible customer service. Just like the past negative reviews from awhile back they are on point on what they wrote about this place and mind you this is my first time there and last time. Cancel my order due to the attitude, the lady was giving me behind the counter for just asking her simple question about ice coffee and then has the nerve to talk Spanish with the other ladies not even realizing that I am Latino myself and understood what they said, and when I responded back in Spanish, their jaws dropped and they walk away from me. so that tells you a lot about that place. Don’t waste your time . NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY IT COVER !!! And that’s what they did to me ! ✌️

Here’s the unfortunate truth about Cranford’s Best Bagel: the bagels are the best but the people are the worst. This place is actively antagonistic to customers and they can get away with it because the bagels are pretty good and there isn’t a lot of competition in the area. You can go to Track 5 coffee around the corner and they’ll know your name and order in a week and smile every time. Cranford Best will give you an angry stare and a loud sigh if *god forbid* you stand in the wrong line. Avoid if you want a pleasant environment.
