Stopped by Southern Hops Brewing Company while in Florence and had a great experience. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, making it a perfect place to hang out with friends and enjoy good conversation. The food was delicious and the craft beer selection had something for everyone.
The staff was friendly and attentive, and you can tell this is a spot that locals really enjoy. If you’re in Florence and looking for a laid-back place with good food, good brews, and a great vibe, Southern Hops is definitely worth the stop.

Pet-friendly dining option! After (or before) visiting Buc-ees in Florence, SC, get off I-95 and make your way to this local gem for a super tasty menu! My husband and I stopped for a late lunch with our dog in tow and Southern Hops’ porch was just what we needed to stretch our legs and let our pooch stretch hers after hours cooped up in the car. Our server brought our girl a bowl of water which was much appreciated! The owner was super accommodating, especially when we thought we had misplaced our dog’s leash. He went inside and was already making a makeshift leash from a shoelace when we found ours. Enjoyed talking with him while we waited for our food. My husband had the Lowcountry Shrimp Burrito w/ slaw and I had the Pretzel Pub Chicken Sandwich w/pasta salad. So good!Learned they had a second location in Murrells Inlet, SC which we somehow have missed when we’ve been there on several occasions. We’ll definitely visit next time and have a beer or two since we won’t have a long drive in front of us. Thanks for the great service and excellent food!

Stopped here for some dinner on the way out of Darlington. Ordered a pizza, the chicken sandwich and a burger. The food was fantastic, the beer was very tasty. We tried a red ale, an IPA and a shanty. The live entertainment was great, good play list. The service was also very good. So glad trip advisor had this on the list as we did not know it was here. There was a lovely couple celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary there! Great spot and we will be back.

What a find! SHBC had the beers we love and the food was Top Shelf! It’s been a long time since we got such great service, too. Camille was friendly, funny, professional and seemed excited to be at work! One of the owners came to our table to check on how we liked the food. Well, Christian (owner), it was fantastic. The best collards we’ve had anywhere. We shall return!

Spent the night in Florence and decided to stop by Southern Hops for dinner and a couple of beers. It turned out to be a great choice.
Even though it was warm enough in November to sit outside, we opted for an inside table. The interior is spacious, open, and clearly set up to handle a large crowd. There’s a stage for live music as well, though there wasn’t a band playing during our visit—which I actually appreciated after a long drive from NY. It made for a nice, quiet evening.
My wife and I shared the pretzel starter, and for our meals we had the shrimp burrito and the BLT. Everything was tasty. I had two Fog Switch NEIPAs, and my wife enjoyed a Sunset Summer (if I remember correctly). Both beers were excellent.
Our server was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and on top of everything. I wish I remembered his name so I could mention it here.
All in all, a great stop. I’d happily return the next time I’m in Florence.

Traveling north, we decided to stop off after reading the reviews. We shared a delicious meat pizza that had plenty of toppings and a well prepared charred crust. The beer selection, guided by our fine polite server Rylan, was varied. Both of our beers were excellent. Highly recommended!

Fun Outdoor Venue
We hosted a couples’ baby shower in the Beer Garden, and it was fantastic. The outdoor space was spacious and inviting, with plenty of space for tables and games. The sail flags and rustic pergola added the perfect touch of charm.
Ari was incredible to work with—responsive, helpful, and on top of every detail. On the day of the event, the staff was attentive and made everything run smoothly, allowing us to truly enjoy the celebration.

Small, one-time sample size but based on the food and drink this place was outstanding. 5 Points IPA was great and paired wonderfully with the Smokehouse Burger. Peppered bacon, pimento cheese, caramelized onion with two perfectly cooked burgers on a brioche roll. Probably a top 5 all-time burger and that’s saying something! Friendly bartender was a plus. Place was oddly quiet, but not surprising on a small-town Monday evening. Absolutely worth a stop, need to sample some more of the beer menu!

Very good and relaxed place to stop by for drink and food. There is live music time to time. This time we sat indoors due the rain, but sitting in the backyard works well if you like quieter atmosphere. Pizzas are very good! SHBC BBQ in the picture and it’s 5/5!

Stopped in for a late lunch, we had our dog with us so we sat outside. Our waitress put an overhead heater on. We ordered a pizza and some of their beers and had a good time. Food and beers were very good.
