This place is what you looking for if you want a delicious plate lunch! I got the Terri Steak and coconut shrimp and it came with Mac salad and rice. So good and hot the spot for sure! The shrimp came with a bomb dip too. Not really a place to hang out at with only a couple outside tables in direct sun. Also the one taking orders could have been more friendly and personable. The cooks seemed to be more friendly to customers. There was no parking since the strip was busy so I had to get dropped off and then get picked up. Would recommend based on the food

The Korean-style chicken barbecue was flavorful, though slightly on the dry side and could have benefited from a bit more sauce. Portions were more modest compared to Won’s in Kahului, though it’s worth noting this isn’t a dedicated Korean establishment and shouldn’t be judged as such. Overall, it was a wholesome, satisfying, and health-conscious meal. Be aware that seating is limited to outdoor tables only.

Stopped in right at opening on Friday, got the teriyaki steak and Korean BBQ. Both meals were cooked to order and fantastic. My steak was cooked to order perfectly. I also ordered an egg roll which was very tasty! The restaurant has bar seating and tables outside as well. I haven’t been in several years and am so happy they are still here serving great food. It’s affordable, filling and good!

I got tofu stir fry and the veggies tasted like they were soaking in plastic/styrofoam. I couldnt eat it. Garlic bread was also loaded with cheese even though the menu never mentioned it. The lady at the counter seemed like she didnt want to deal with me. Definitely wouldn’t come back and have to recommend others against visiting like I wish I would have been.

This place is a hidden gem in every sense—blink and you might miss it tucked in a little strip mall across from the beach. But trust me, Honokowai Okazuya & Deli is the kind of spot you’ll end up coming back to… maybe more than once on your trip. (I sure did.)
First time I went, I grabbed the chicken katsu, and it was exactly what I was hoping for—crispy, golden breading, juicy chicken inside, and a portion big enough to leave me full and still have leftovers for later. Classic plate lunch done right.
But the real surprise? The loco moco. I wasn’t planning on it, but the smell coming from someone else’s takeout order convinced me. One bite in—fluffy rice, a tender beef patty, egg with a perfect runny yolk, and that rich brown gravy—and I knew I made the right call. It’s stick-to-your-ribs, nap-after kind of good.
Everything here feels homemade, generous, and unpretentious. Prices are great, portions are huge, and the food just tastes like someone’s grandma made it with love (and a little attitude).
Heads up: it’s cash only, and it’s takeout-style with just a few outdoor seats, but honestly? Grab your food and walk it down to the beach. That’s the move.

The hamburger my husband got was not fully cooked; my daughter who loves loco moco and would literally do anything for , hated hers; my kung pao chicken was a 5/10; the egg rolls tasted like they came from Costco, but worse. We also got egg foo young and three drinks for a total of 110.00. This was our last meal in the island and definitely the worst. 🙁

I have been going to the fish market next door for years and Miss Arepas is also great. This is my first time trying Okazuya and I will be back. I asked about the sausage sandwich and she said “nobody orders that to be honest.” So of course I tried it. So good! The bread is so soft and the marinara sauce tastes fresh and homemade. Very tasty and the fries were delicious, crispy and perfectly seasoned. It is an off-the-wall order for a place that is stated as Asian on Google but they have a ton of variety on their menu.

They made the food very quickly. The portions were also great and my husband really enjoyed the crab cakes, and the Firecracker Mahi Mahi and Shrimp. I am a picky eater and ordered the grilled cheese and it was also very good. Overall great experience and friendly counter lady!
