A Gulf Coast Gem – Fried Shrimp Perfection and More!
Carvor’s Fish House is an absolute standout — one of those places you walk into and instantly feel welcomed. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly right from the start, and the food? Out of this world.
I’ve lived along the Gulf Coast for 50 years, and I can honestly say this was the best fried shrimp I’ve ever had. Perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful inside — just absolute perfection.
I’m not usually a fan of fish and chips, but their cod completely won me over. Light, flaky, and cooked just right. The fries were solid, the grouper tacos were fresh and flavorful, and the hush puppies were golden bites of heaven. The cole slaw was just okay, but honestly, everything else more than made up for it.
They’ve also got a surprisingly nice selection of beer and wine, which was the cherry on top of a fantastic meal.
Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Carvor’s is 100% worth the stop. Do yourself a favor and check it out — you won’t be disappointed.

Looking for fish and chips in Dunedin and we found this place just next to the fish market. What a treat! First, the ladies were so pleasant and happy to serve us. Then… the food was delicious. The fish tasted so fresh. It melted in our mouth. We also had the crab soup which had more crab than any we had had before. All around a great lunch!

after many visits to other seafood eateries, I always felt like Wendy’s 1980 icon Clara “where’s the beef” Peller as area seafood meals lacked quality and quantity… Luckily today I discovered Carvor’s Fish House as they delivered local seafood that was perfectly prepared and did not have me wondering where the seafood was hidden. In addition, staff was very helpful and the attractive outdoor seating area is dog friendly for my beagle. Add in great sides, scratch sauces and adult beverages and you have a real winner – highly recommended!

Amazing grouper sandwich! I always look forward to coming here, plus Dunedin is such a great place to walk around and visit.
Update: have been back many times and one of my favorite fish shacks! The scallops are definitely my #1 with the grouper sandwich as a close second. The key lime pie bar is delish as well.

Suffice to say, I know my grouper. And at Carvor’s, they know their grouper too. How to Prepare it so It Retains its delicate flavor while being perfectly grilled Or blackened. Vastly superior to the self proclaimed Clearwater Beach “best grouper sandwich” chain. Vastly. If you are staying in Clearwater Beach, it will take you 10 or 15 minutes to get to Carvor’s But it is absolutely worth the drive. Highest recommendations from a grouper aficionado. By the way, scallops are excellent too.

We had a day date and headed Straight to Carvor’s for our first ever Stone Crab!! Everything we had(Medium and Large Stone Crab & Shrimp Ceviche)was absolutely to die for!! The atmosphere was incredible!! They were even so kind to bring my little girl out a bowl of ice water. We will definitely be back!!

Easily the best fish house in the Dunedin area. Fresh amazing seafood and the preparation and portions are awesome. Nice local beer selection and wine as well. Key lime bars are a fantastic sweet treat.

Sooo Carvor’s Fish House was an unexpected delight! We stumbled upon this hidden gem and decided to give it a try based on the menu – and we were not disappointed. The food was absolutely fresh and delicious, and the staff were all friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The outdoor seating was all covered and added to the laid-back atmosphere.
Here’s what we ordered:
Crab Cake Sandwich = The crab cake was perfectly fried and tasted amazing!
Ahi Tuna Fish Sandwich = So yummy, we could hardly believe it!
Seafood Sampler = Of all the delicious options, the fish was the standout winner.
Cucumber, Tomato, and Onion Pasta = This dish was great, but we recommend trying it without the pasta for an even lighter option.
We’ll definitely be returning to Carvor’s Fish House!

Finally made it here! I’ve had it on my list for several years and I’m so glad we finally tried it.
Cute little restaurant right next to Jensen’s Fish Market (same owners).
Very clean, cute decor with all outdoor or front porch seating.
Everything in the case at Carvor’s and on the menu sounded delicious.
We started with the Mahi based fish spread that had a really clean and light flavor.
Next I had the yummy shrimp and crab salad (think light mayo base with old bay seasoning) sandwich on a toasted onion roll with provolone, lettuce and tomato. The Quality of the seafood was very fresh
For choice of side, I went with the onion rings. Light, crispy and slightly sweet batter: very tasty especially once I added salt.
My husband had the crispy fried grouper nuggets with delicious fries and for his side he picked the delicious hush puppies (tasted like a creamy sweet corn filling).
Nice service and the to go items in the case looked amazing. A great way to pick up lunch, dinner or a picnic in the park feast. We’ll definitely be back!
