Cozy Cafe: Your Hidden Gem for Greek Cuisine, Burgers, and …
Reviews
Cannot rave enough about this true “cozy” cafe. On the outside, which is being painted, it may not look like much, but it has a charm that breaks through the generic, modernistic, and want to be boutique eateries of the area. What others are trying to convey The Cozy Cafe brings to you on a plate with home style meals.
The iconic mix of Greek-Hispanic flair made famous by California literary great Victor Villasenor resonates in this establishment!
In the center of all the “fluff” of touristy Rendondo Beach fare, sit down at the horseshoe style countertop and have a great cup of Joe, good enough for any dock worker or fisherman. Order the Huevos Rancheros and be served a large plate of eggs, papas with onions, and a “Spanish sauce” that has a Mediterranean flair! Or order the Ham Steak and Eggs and have a meal fit for a sailor!
The experience is like visiting a relative’s home, catching up on recent events, and having a great meal.
Day 2: Had to return for another breakfast! Was greeted like a regular! Carlos and the Saturday Morning Crew was busy serving breakfast. I had the Chorizo con Huevos, what a great meal and yes with a stack of corn tortillas and side of chilies- I ate it all! The Crew kept my coffee cup filled with that brewed gold!
Walking away I felt like leaving an old friend behind and will long for this place when I return home tomorrow.
Actually cozy place if you eat at the bar counter.
Definitely not a modern place. Feels actually old, but if you know you’re there for the food, you’ll enjoy this very much!!
Great food, small indoor area!! It appeared there was seating outside. Will be back next time we are in town.
Great atmosphere.
Friendly crowd and staff!
Walking distance to Redondo Beach Pier.
Family owned.
Went there right at 7:30 when they open, very friendly staff, and a local venue. Very small inside, won’t seat more than about 12 or so at the small counter, but they also have some outdoor seating area with tables. Large selection of items on the menu. A little run down, but that just adds to the ambiance.
Had heuvos rancheros…very good! The green chili hot salsa as a condiment made it even better. Coffee is typical diner style, decent, not great. Prices were decent, probably less than a typical California restaurant.
What makes this place is a good meal and friendly conversation not only with the staff, but locals who come here all the time.
Would I come back again…yes.
Would I recommend…yes.
