Nice restaurant in Portland. We went on a Tuesday evening and they had a Prix fixe menu with 3 courses including a salad, a fish entree, and a dessert. I think this was a great value.
They also have a special for the day which was a half chicken.
The drink list was quite good and desseets were nice and not overwhelming after a big dinner.
It was a very nice experience and I will definitely be back.

September 30, 2023: we came today because it was petit Jacqueline’s last day of operation. It was one of our favorite restaurant’s in Portland. We’ll miss it.
2022 July: we ate on the outside patio. It only has three tables. The street is closed to traffic and I thought it was charming. I enjoyed the main entre of salmon, but the French onion soup this time was totally flavorless. I had it here many times in the past and enjoyed it. Something went wrong today. Fortunately, the main entre saved the day.
2022 april: oysters with champagne ice are fantastic. French onion soup was good .Beef Burgoyne is made with lardon, which is bacon, so it had a strong bacon flavor which I did no care for. The restaurant was crowded but well spaced.
2019:Another excellent dinner. Oyster s, French onion soup, and chicken were outstanding.
2018:Excellent food, we enjoyed everything we had both appetizers (oysters, fois gras) and entries (duck, beef). Fiedly staff. We were in a hurry bbefore a concert and they were able to accommodate our schedule without sacrificing surface or quality of the food. We eat at petite Jacqueline several times at there old location. They moved two years ago and we were happy to find that the food remained just as good.

This place is not what it used to be. Prior to the new chef, it was an excellent French Bistro that my girlfriend and I would visit multiple times per summer (for the past 3 years). We would recommend this restaurant to everyone, now we recommend not attending. Our most recent visit was terrible. The chicken liver had an un-edible layer of fat on the top. The escargot came with only 3 snails, encapsulated in massive fried balls. That’s about as far as we made it. We cashed out and went to a different restaurant. Attached is the food from the old restaurant. It was top notch and truly French. Hopefully this place gets their act together and reverts to the old menus. The spring and summer 2023 menus are laughable in comparison.

What was there to explain? The layer of fat tasted rotten, almost resembling vomit. This was by no means a flavor that can be incorporated into anything. It was a nice touch being charged an extra $4 for the baguette that was listed in the description as well. Did I mention there was a hair in it? Anyways, if it was explained to me that I was going to be charged $16 for three snails in hollow fried balls on soggy arugula perhaps I would have ordered the french onion soup. Wait, I did try to do that; you guys were all out.
Judging by the most recent reviews on google and yelp, running out of french onion soup seems to be a common occurrence. Not everyone wants to eat bone marrow, chicken liver, or snails. I seriously hope the pursuit of being different isn’t this restaurant’s demise.

What a lovely place for brunch, we had great Crêpes and some wonderful soup. The fresh mini biscuits were simply amazing! The Crêpe I had was with cream cheese, smoked salmon, capers and onions. It was a fantasist mix of all. I highly reckon and.

Went here for the Valentine’s prix fixe menu and was really impressed. From start to finish each dish was absolutely perfect and delicious. Staff were attentive and kind and the atmosphere comfortable. I’ll post a photo of the entire set menu, but what I chose was the mushroom starter, scallop main and cheesecake for dessert. We also got bread to mop up our plates in between courses which was also really good baguette. Highly recommended it and I know I’ll be back again.

Really nice ambiance and setting for brunch. Friendly and prompt service. The omelette and French toast we got were delicious! We are lactose sensitive and pork-free which made options limited but we intend on coming back to try the duck crape and sandwich

Very difficult to find these authentic French bistros serving traditional French entrees’. Not all of us want a bistro with an “interesting twist” but prefer the real deal. We were there in the afternoon and unfortunately had other commitments for dinner. But the items we had were amazing as was the wine. Very few places serve decent wines by the glass but this place nailed it. Bummer they were out of onion soup, seems like that should be a bedrock item. Dining here will be at the top of our list when we return to Portland ME.

Walked in on Mothers Day which is the one of their most busy days of the year. Nevertheless the host got me a table and was cool about it long as I was gone before the reservation for the table I was at.
They make a great Greyhound and the salad with smoked salmon was French onion soup was decent but overall a great place with great service!

Loved the place. Great food, good wine and good prices. Nice service and dining area too. We also had a couple appetizers and a dessert but didn’t take pictures (we were hungry and dug right in ). All was great and I can’t wait to go back to try more things on the menu.

This is our second time dining at Petite Jacqueline. The food was great, the atmosphere was wonderful (a nice french bistro feel) and the service was excellent. We have recommended it to friends traveling to Portland. Portland has a ton of wonderful restaurants and Petite Jacqueline is one of them.
