Just passing through and craved a steak. My wonderful wife wasn’t with me but has a gift for picking amazing places near my path. She killed it this time. Sent me here, 3 miles out of my way, and into one of the very best steaks I’ve ever had in my life. Never been to Oklahoma before, (never wanted to) but now I have to come back. I do not possess the vocabulary to describe the Blue Ribbon Ribeye. Incredible!!!!

Addition: the coconut cream pie is ALSO one of the best I’ve ever had! This place is unbelievably good!

The service was IMPECCABLE, we had not one but two servers ask us if we had been helped, our server was extremely attentive and nice. The ribye i had wasnt over seasoned, just right, and very very buttery. Chocolate meringue pie was very good, not overly sweet. Overall a great experience and a reasonable price, great stop for birthdays or if you’re in town.

This is a must stop for us whenever we are in Oklahoma. We recommend the Sunday lunch steak. It is melt in your mouth delicious! Their homemade rolls are divine and make sure you take home some house made dressing. Hint: buy and extra steak, you won’t regret it.

let me just start off by saying yes, this place is an institution, but don’t expect a great steak. there are far better places to get a steak in oklahoma city (check out ranch in the village). that being said, it does offer its own unique blend of oldschool charm with a no frills eating experience. worth checking out once.

Very happy with the waitress she was pleasant did not rush us for our order. The salad was crisp and fresh. The Steak was prepared to perfection and it was delicious. The rolls were like my grandma’s fresh baked. My steamed vegetables were delicious.

I was truly impressed by this Old School Steak House. Pure greatness, and I dony say that often. We were in town for the OU Old Miss game and decided to try this place out since our hotel was in OKC. I have heard about this place for a long time and just never got the chance to go. Once we walked inside the entire place and neighborhood reminded me of the Stockyards in Fort Worth. This was a true western steak house at its old school finest. I had a nice big ribeye that was cooked to perfection. The sides were on point as well, my wife loved the Mac and cheese. There was no wait and don’t get discouraged when you walk inside. The place is bigger than what you first see. Servers were truly ” On Point” and my drink never got to bottom ice. Definitely looking forward to another excellent dinner. This place is on my OKC list best of

I could have utilized $175 for Outback and had an better experience. I ordered a Ribeye Mid/Raw and it had a funky taste to it! Borderline sour! Sent it back to receive one even worse! Immediately discarded it from my mouth it was completely sour & the Dayum Cow was still Moooowing! It was Raw! The only saving grace was the Catfish! And the amazing Waitress! Well the second one! The First thing LIE and said she was doing a shift change but continued to serve the other YT people! She had no personality at all I was GLAD She changed!
She definitely missed her Blessing!

*Update – Dec 2025*

I visited again for lunch and had a great experience.. My 16oz t-bone was cooked and seasoned perfectly.. I tried the mashed potatoes for the first time, too, and they were good..

*Original Review*

Two of my coworkers and I were in the area for business and visited Cattlemen’s for lunch today.. The restaurant was teeming with lunch diners during our visit and had ample staff on hand to accommodate the crowd..

This wasn’t a first visit for any of us, but this is the first time I’ve opted to do a review..

I ordered the lunch T-bone (16 oz) with fries and the house salad.. I asked for their house and vinegarette dressings on the side..

Everything was delivered to the table as ordered.. The salad was fresh, cold, and crisp, and the dressings were delightful.. I enjoyed both dressings equally, and both stand apart from any other dressings I’ve enjoyed at other restaurants..

The steak was simply seasoned with salt and pepper and was cooked just a bit beyond the medium that I requested.. Despite that, the steak was flavorful, juicy, and quite deelish without additional seasoning..

The fries were delivered hot and fresh with a light touch of salt.. I typically order the baked potato (equally satisfying), which comes with butter, sour cream, shredded cheese, bacon bits, and finely chopped chives..

The old school atmosphere of this restaurant and the quality of its professional waitstaff really brings the dining experience full circle..

Cattlemen’s is one of many great steakhouses in the Oklahoma City metro area, but one of the most unique from a historical perspective, so if you are visiting or passing through, you should give them a try..
