The restaurant had beautiful decor with paintings of celebrities all over the walls. It creates an ambiance that’s almost as good as the food itself. The eggs Benedict were delicious and the French toast was fluffy and rich. We also tried the ice cream latte which was a very fun start to the meal. 10/10 we will be back!

Came here for lunch the other day and unfortunately wasn’t very impressed. We had sandwiches, so I can only hope that the breakfast is better. I had the smoked salmon sandwich and it had one lonely piece of salmon on it. The sandwiches also come with hardly dressed greens unless you want to pay $2 for potatoes, which were pretty good.

Our first time at the cafe. Loved the atmosphere and the wall graffiti depicting famous people from scientists, to musicians to artists. I read a previous review saying the art on the wall was AI generated, must have been before the wall graffiti was done. We were a party of 3 and each ordered a different menu item. There is something for everyone. The bread for the sandwiches and the bread accompanying the egg dishes is sourdough bread. The salad portions with the egg dish was very generous. The fruit with the French toast bread was mostly berries and generous portion. This is not something you see in other breakfast places where fruit portions are small and mostly banana. Waitresses were frindly and accomodating. We all loved it and will be coming again.

The current rating being a 4.7 is crazyyy. I don’t think that’s accurate at all. Pittsburgh’s finest restaurants don’t even rate that high. Anyway.

The food was okay, not memorable. I ordered the Nutcracker, which was listed under “Salads and Bowls” on the menu. I kind of expected what was listed in the menu to be on top of a salad given its categorization, but no, it was neither a salad nor in a bowl.

It was 4 silver dollar sized cheese patties with fruit and two dips. It was fine, but I wasn’t very impressed. The walnuts are literally just raw walnuts, not caramelized or anything. My companion ordered the Einstein French toast. Savory French toast is an interesting take. He said he wouldn’t order it again.

Meanwhile, while we’re eating, we’re being stared down at by soulless AI “art.” It was unsettling. To me, it’s really sad that the owners choose to display AI-generated images of famous people, some of whom were artists themselves. It’s a slap in the face to those late artists and to the restaurant patrons. For God’s sake, put anything on the wall except AI! Better yet, hire a real human artist to paint you something.

Even the pictures of food on the front counter were AI-generated! At a restaurant!

I fear even if the food was good, I wouldn’t come back as long as the restaurant is decorated as it is.

The Famous Cafe is a great hidden Gem .
The menu is both creative and diverse. They have multiple styles of Eggs Benedict, French Toast and Sandwiches all named after famous people.
The service was very friendly and efficient without being overbearing.
The food was amazing!!
I had the Vivaldi sandwich and my wife had French Toast.
It is a small space with limited seating and parking can be a little tricky.
Overall I’d definitely return for another visit and would recommend it

Great tasting food, plentiful options to choose from that will satisfy any palate. I had the Eggs Benedict with the salmon which was outstanding, my wife had the omelette with spinach, mushrooms, and salmon. I tried hers, and it was very tasty, light and fluffy omelette. The prices are a little more than you would traditionally pay for a breakfast but then again, you are eating higher end ingredients like the salmon. Would I go back? Absolutely!

The food was really good and I liked the atmosphere. I’m an eggs benedict fan so I really enjoyed the variety of choices! I’ve lived in the area for almost 4 years now and have always driven past this place numerous times but never stopped in until today and I can say I am really impressed + it’s walking distance so that’s an extra perk!
