Wanted to bring home some yummy flavors to my spouse and this spot definitely filled the bill. The chicken was excellent and the pork was tender. Only downside was my garlic fries as they were essentially drowning in the garlic which took away from the crispness of the fries, but overall. Well worth a visit

I came in and ordered the chicken katsu from the lunch special, while my friend ordered a different lunch that included three meats. My friend’s food came out in about five minutes and was finished eating before I received anything. After waiting 35 minutes, I went to the front to get a cup and still wasn’t given any update on my order. When I finally asked about my food, I was shocked to see it had already been cooked and was sitting in the metal pans by the register the entire time. I had assumed the delay was because it was still being prepared or there were larger orders ahead of mine. There was no apology or explanation. The customer service was terrible, and on top of that, the place was uncomfortably hot. I won’t be returning.

Ordered online and went to store when the food was supposed to be ready. 35 min of waiting later I received my food and to my surprise, no spam musubi. The guy working told me to grab a drink instead….. my spam musubi cost 5.99… make it make sense. Then I drive 12 min home and realize that my chicken katsu curry is missing the curry, my katsu lava chicken is not chicken katsu but grilled chicken rolled in sauce (online it says katsu chicken then rolled in sauce) and I also have no Mac on both of my orders. So to recap… I am missing 2 spam musubi’s, there is not curry sauce on my kitchen katsu curry plate, and both of my plates are missing mac and cheese. I actually called the place to complain and the guy said well… we rain out of musubi and Mac and cheese… then.. to top it all off, the whole meal was cold. Again, make it make sense.

I ordered Lumpia and they arrived severely over cooked, extremely short in lengh and there was even a burn hole in the container which suggested that it sat on a burner/hot holding area. I also ordered the mini BBQ chicken plate and the cabbage was missing that comes under the chicken. Wish food quality/prep was consistent.

I’ve eaten here twice and have ordered to go both times. I love Kalua pork and Mac salad, I’ll say this is perfect and exactly what I’m used to eating. The first time I ordered the Kalua pork and chicken plate with 3 sides. The katsu chicken was nice and crispy! This time I got the Kalua pork plate with also 3 sides. I do feel like this time I got less Mac salad but of course it was all so delicious either way !

I don’t usually leave 1-star reviews, but this visit was disappointing on multiple fronts. I ordered a salad with Katsu chicken and shrimp, expecting something fresh and flavorful. Instead, what I received was an overly greasy mess. The shrimp was literally floating in a pool of oil, the meat quality was subpar—tough and unappetizing—and the greens were dry and clearly not fresh. What was supposed to be a light, subtle dish turned out to be something which i did not expect.
To make matters worse, the dining area was swarming with houseflies, making it impossible to enjoy the meal. I had flies landing on my food and even on my face. It’s clear that most of their business is takeout, so I doubt many people get to see the state of cleanliness (or lack thereof) in the dining area.
The wait time was also unreasonable—about 20 minutes just for a salad. That’s incredibly slow for a fast-casual spot. And for the price and the quality of food it’s definitely not worth it.
I typically give places the benefit of the doubt, but this experience left a bad taste—literally and figuratively. I won’t be returning.

HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! Ordered the BBQ Chicken plate and fried fish plate. All I got was a pile of dry cold chicken and rice, no cabbage, no macaroni, no flavor. To add injury to insult the other plate was all dry cold shrimp, NO FISH! The shrimp tasted like something that was microwaved out of a box.
I grew up in Cali and L&L was one of my favs. This place killed the experience for me. I cant believe I spent $48 on these two sorry plates. Never coming back. Id rather perfect my own recipes than WASTE my money on this garbage.

I love L&L bbqi ordered the bbq chicken plate and it was delicious and came out in a timely manner. Tried the musubi rolls today they were on special they were excellent. Naomi was also very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and options. Will definitely be going back for more.

Visited this location while on a work trip to San Antonio, I had previously eaten at L&L outside of San Antonio and it was excellent.
This was laughably bad. Everything was kept in warming dishes. The chicken Katsu was soggy and flavorless, the rice was semi hard. This location doesn’t uphold the L&L quality im used to and im sure corporate requires of its franchisees.
The Good: Relatively cheap, convenient location to JBSA.
The Bad: Literally everything else.
The Bottom Line: L&L is USUALY a great lunch option, this location isnt it. Run.

When it’s good it’s damn good. Dropping a star as we’ve had issues with consistency when ordering. First time everything was great, second time we weren’t provided with sauce for the chicken bbq, third time the chicken had no color and sauce wasn’t as good. We order online so maybe this impacts overall experience.
