I love diners and this was such a charming experience. Loved the interior with the vintage charm! Booths are on the smaller side but comfortably fit 3-4 people. Plenty of stools – I think only 6 booths. Saturday morning 9:30-10:30 seems not too busy so a good time to come.
The raspberry pancakes originally caught my eye and they were very delicious. Loved the fresh, tart flavour they had. I haven’t seen raspberries in pancakes before so this was a nice alternative to blueberries.
Also got the spinach, feta, and tomato omelette which came with toast and home fries. Delicious too – I will say the feta made is slightly dry. The home fries were tasty – on the plainer side but I personally prefer that to over seasoned home fries. The side of bacon was good – a bit crispier than personal preference but still good!!
This is a great diner experience – the service was nice, the food was delicious, and the prices were fair. Would definitely recommend this spot 🙂

This cute old school diner has a simple menu and the food comes out fresh and hot. But there is nothing that really makes this place stand out. We got a pumpkin muffin, the feta spinach omelette and the eggs and corn beef hash. The muffin was the most stand out item, it was a sweet corn bread base with pumpkin spice flavor mixed in. The omelette was exactly what it says it is, nothing more nothing less. The has was a good hash and egg combo. The home fries seemed to be seasoned with curry which gives them a different flavor then normal but not one that I would look for. The jam that was at the table seemed to be very old it all tasted like it had spoiled.

I have always wanted to check this place out, so when I had the chance, I did. This place really feels like it stepped out of the past, from the building to the layout. This diner is a true artifact.
After entering from one of the two(!) enterences, you can choose to sit at a surprisingly comfortable booth or at the ever classic counter.
While they have a decent lunch menu, you need to ask for it specifically as they seem to promote their breakfasty foods.
I found the bacon cheeseburger to be quite nice and not cooked to a briquet as some places are want to do. The fries were not my favorite style.
I was told that the French Toast was not very good. I have nothing to add to that as I did not try it personally. The iced tea was a little disappointing; I suspect they use Lipton tea, which is well known to be one of the worst teas.
All in all, I think I would go back and try something else, such as the meatloaf sandwich or Ruben. I also think I’ll sit at the counter to check that out.

First time eating at this diner. I love diner food because it’s cooked fresh to order. This place is small but the atmosphere is perfect. It’s surrounded with photos of the past years and the decor is perfect. The food OUTSTANDING!!!!! I will definitely eat here again. The staff is friendly and prompt.

I am from Corpus Christi Texas, came out here for a job. While being here in Connecticut we stop at the famous Diner. I would really recommend if ur from out of town and close by Hartford Connecticut. You should stop by at Quaker Diner and get some delicious French Toast. The food was great and the waitress were very friendly.

Nearly 100 year old dining experience. Great history laden diner going back to 1931 when it was shipped to West Hartford, Connecticut. It was run by a family for many years afterwards. It has been kept in original clean historical condition for all these years while the city continued to grow and modernize around it. Beautiful original decor with original cast iron counter stools, tile floors and real wood everywhere. Cozy decor, but as with old diners, it is small with 6 cubical tables and a dozen counter stools. Great competitively priced breakfasts, well made. The free parking is available next to the diner, but is limited. Note: Parking area shows as a tow-away zone, but is not, as the diner rents space here, as well. Very clean restrooms, still in original look of 1931. Just beautiful. Does not have a ramp for access.

This is the cutest diner ever!! I went there by myself because I was doing laundry up the street. They were pretty busy but the food came pretty fast and exactly how I ordered it. Prices are fair…the only thing is, they play the music a little too loud for my liking and it’s like 1940’s band music which I think they play to make the atmosphere like it was many many years ago. It wasn’t the music that bothered me it was just the volume. No big deal. I’ll still go back!!

It’s what a diner should be. We were a party of four for breakfast and everyone enjoyed their food and the atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and the food is excellent. The service was really fast. The prices are very reasonable. We waited just a few minutes for table on Sunday. We will be back.

My husband and I went here for a brunch date with his mom and our son and we love it! Besides the food being excellent( they know how to season). The diner is soooo nostalgic, gave you a small glimpse of what a diner looked liked in early/mid 1930s. Had to take a few pictures, set up was authentic, staff was friendly. We plan on coming back for another date. Highly recommend this place .
