I was in town for a coin show and decided to check a local place out for lunch. The burger was excellent. The fries were a little bland (beer battered ones). The service is a little odd, we stood at the food counter for some time watching a girl in the back as she just looked at us back. As a person that’s never been there before, we didn’t know if we should sit down, grab a menu and sit down, shout out an order etc. The place is cool and has a decent separation food from bar. Sports on TV, not a fan, lots of squeaky basketball shoes, would prefer that on mute and some music instead. Would return if in the area again. (Oh and a funny thing on bathroom wall haha)

Shady place. Came from about 5 hours away to see Morgan Jay and ate here. I paid, left a tip, and the screen at the counter went black. Girl behind counter said it didn’t go through so I did it again. Get home and a couple days later I see I’m double charged. Owners r supposedly the ones that can fix it but are never there and won’t return emails. My bank took it over and they now blocked the banks emails. lol. Good business practices there. Bank said they have never had this happen before where a “legit” business blocks them. So they got an extra $27 from me. I wouldn’t pay with a card if you’re going there.

This is one of the secret spaces in Madison. For a younger crowd this place can be the NIGHT OUT, but for people seeking a wonderful evening, a dank outing or even a lovely peruse, the FOOD at Hawks is amazing. Constant engaging evening specials, great staff- seriously- this place has great service and for kids, they meet more than the standard. Bar managers are excellent with customer service and I could be happier with the chefs and supporting staff. REALLY GOOD, try try try try. Favorite space for FIFA and friends.

EAT HERE!!! I came for Taco Tuesday and these are the best tacos I’ve ever eaten. $6.95 and you can choose among the options. I chose grilled chicken, fish and jerk shrimp. The shell is outstanding and the tacos are incredible.

I’ve never been but numerous reviews indicate that they turn people away who are 21 and claim that the IDs are fake, and the owner does not even bother to respond to those reviews. In one review, he even responds that they don’t serve oysters but doesn’t respond at all to people being turned away because their bouncers are falsely identifying IDs as fake. Sounds like the owner is okay with age discrimination.

My wife and daughter and I stopped in while visiting Madison for dinner. We had the tuna melt, cheeseburger and blt and cheese curds. Most of the food was pretty good. My daughter did not care for the cheeseburger. Service is a little weird – a waitress will take your drink orders, but you have to go to the counter to order your food and you have to pick it up when they buzz you. They had outdoor seating which was great for people watching as it’s on a street with no car traffic, just people walking, biking skateboard, etc. Fun atmosphere.
