Tonight we tried Taqueria Lindo and it was an excellent experience. I know the place is fairly new, so you might not see a packed parking lot yet—but don’t let that stop you. Once you walk in, it feels like stepping into a restaurant in Mexico. The music, the atmosphere, everything just feels right.
My family has deep Mexican roots—my grandmother came here from Mexico in 1929, and my grandparents were from Gómez Palacio and Chihuahua. I grew up eating Mexican food, cooking it myself, and I’ve eaten at a lot of Mexican restaurants over the years. Because of that, I usually judge a place by a few key dishes like chile rellenos and tacos—whether they’re street tacos or regular tacos.
Taqueria Lindo passed the test. The meat was tender, flavorful, and they had a great variety to choose from. Everything that came to the table looked fantastic and the presentation was excellent.
The service was great too. I got by with my usual mix of broken Spanish and English—my “Spanglish”—and we got along just fine. All three of my boys loved the food, especially the chips, and they have a great kids menu. Prices were comparable to other places around Kansas City, maybe even a little better than some.
By the time we sat down, about 20 more people came in, which was great to see for a new restaurant. I hope they stick around because they deserve the business.
I’m usually pretty picky when it comes to Mexican food, but I honestly don’t have anything bad to say about this place. I gave it five stars, and that’s something I’ve never given any Mexican restaurant in Kansas City before—and I’ve been to a lot of them growing up on the West Side.
If you’re looking for a new place to take the family, I definitely recommend giving Taqueria Lindo a try.
One more thing—people always talk about tipping the server, and yes, tip based on the service you get. But if the food was great, remember the cooks too. Those folks in the kitchen are working hard. Send five or ten bucks back to the kitchen—they’ll appreciate it more than you know.

So Ordered a ice water some lemons and the two burrito lunch special.finally get my water after like 5 minutes after getting chips and salsa . I would have to say I was pretty disappointed ….didn’t bring my lemons I asked for … Finally brings us out food wait wasn’t long at All and I am pretty sure I know why all that food was like leftover from days before you could taste old fridge. Burritos looked like a bloody dead mess super greasy and old tasting . Had to ask her again for the lemons she was like we don’t have those how about a limes. To top it all off I had no silver wear had to ask for that as well …Water and chips were the only good things about this place I would give zero stars if I could .

I tried their steak and the chorizo tacos. They were really good, just a bit too greasy. The Jamaica drink was not good; extremely sweet and way too concentrated. I went for lunch. The service was good but atmosphere was just bland. I would go back for tacos on lunch time again if im in a hurry. Service was fast.

From the time that I got into the restaurant, I was seated immediately and the waitress bought chips and salsa. She was very accommodating. She took my order and explained a few things to me, and the experience was great. The waitress name was Yolanda

Can’t speak on the service and atmosphere because it was a togo order but the food was absolutely disappointing . Beans were swimming in grease. The tacos were a let down the flavor simply was not there. The tortillas were the best thing about them. The sauces were bland as well. 4 tacos w/ rice and beans was $18+.

Chips and salsa was ok. The chicken is not shredded chicken, It is stir fry chicken, so be prepared for that, regardless of ordering a taco or a enchilada choose no chicken! The ground beef is the color of blood & is too greasy..

The music was a vibe (banda). I got tacos de lengua and tripa. The lengua were 10/10 and the tripa were 7/10. The green salsa was my favorite 10/10 because it had good flavor and a bit more thick than the red and the red salsa was 7/10 to watery. Even the chips were good! I would come back.

We have lived not far from this place since June of 2023 and haven’t been able to stop in. We arrived close to closing time but were welcomed with smiles. I love the salsa’s but would love to try the one with the spicer one warm. the birria was decent but adding onions and cilantro made it better. my pastor tacos were some of the best ever. I will order them everyday! our daughter got the chicken quesadilla with rice and beans and she could have licked the plate! We will be back very soon. finished the night off with Frutopia.
