Once again we “belly up” to the bar area. Andrew our bartender made it a great experience. We love French style food, and this place does not disappoint. Not many people can say this but some of the best frog legs we have ever had!! Cocktails were great, staff was amazing, the vibe is awesome, live music just added to what I would say was a A+ dining experience. Keep up the great work and we can’t wait to come back.

Went to La Cuisine for a nicer French dinner and it felt like a real “special night out” place. The dining room is cozy and romantic, with that classic bistro vibe where you actually want to take your time. The food came out well-paced and tasted homemade, not rushed—rich sauces, warm bread, and the kind of comfort dishes you don’t find everywhere. Service was attentive and more formal than casual, which fits the setting. It’s on the pricier side, but if you’re going for a date night or celebration, it’s a solid pick.

My wife and I ate here about a month ago and decided to wait until our trip to Paris to write this review because we wanted to come back and try it again and compare it to the real deal — well, after dining in France last week at renowned restaurants like Jules Verne atop the Eiffel Tower and hidden gems away from tourists at places such as Perruche, and La Renommée – I can happily say that I didn’t expect to come home and have a meal back in my home town that surpassed them—but La Cuisine did. My favorite dish, the Beef Bourguignon was flawlessly balanced, rich with authentic flavor, and beautifully presented. The service was refined yet warm, and the atmosphere felt genuinely intimate.
La Cuisine captures the essence of fine French dining with more heart and precision than the Paris establishments themselves. It’s a rare gem that proves world-class cuisine doesn’t require a passport—just a reservation in Ocala.

The bread is simply amazing, consider getting the roasted garlic in butter appetizer to spread. The French onion soup is some of the best you’ll ever have; it’s quite exquisite. Finish it off with a NY strip with some mushroom gravy and/or red wine reduction. An excellent experience!

The service was very good. The atmophere was pleasant. We were disappointed when we got our ribeye steaks. They were cooked well but the meat was one of the toughest pieces of meat I have ever had. Sadly, if we are paying top dollar for a steak, it shouldn’t be this hard to chew. It was not the quality we expect from such a quality restaurant.

Food was phenomenal. Wife had the filet and I had the swordfish. The parmasen soup was definitely a highlight. We went for our 15th anniversary. The waiter was on point. I did make a reservation and was sat as soon as we arrived. It definitely was a great choice for our anniversary.

Le Cuisine never disappoints! Although we have not tried the brunch yet, we have experienced flawless and wonderful dinners on each occasion.

Went for brunch. Called last minute, and they were nice to accommodate us. The salmon eggs were good. The sweet chocolate crêpe had rich chocolate, but it was sour/bitter. I appreciate the richness of the chocolate, but it was not sweet by any stretch of the imagination—two bites in, it was unbearable to eat. The whipped cream always has a funky taste (always has, I’ve tasted that in France, their whipped cream is not French, it’s this formula they use that gives it a funky taste and ruins deserts, but we scrape it off when we get the chocolate mousse because we love that desert).
The most disappointing part was the service. We saw the waiter maybe three times. My 10 year old and I had to give our water to my teenager because no one even looked toward our table the entire 45 minutes we were there to ask how the food was or if we needed anything—like water. I wanted a second mocktail, but there was no one to place the order with. They were not very busy. There were many empty tables!
It will be a very long time before I go here again, if ever, which is a shame because Ocala already has a limited selection of restaurants. I’d rather drive to Tampa or Gainesville than have this experience again. (FYI, this is not the first time—before it was just a few mishaps here and there, which I expected because human error. Today, it was insulting at best.)

Very atmospheric with the old school lighting and cozy decor. My husband and I got the burger and grouper, which was absolutely outstanding! The burger was by far the best both of us have ever had, and the grouper was cooked perfectly with a wonderful lemon seasoning and mashed potatoes. Our server was also very attentive and made sure we were always taken care of during our stay. He was honest about what dishes he thought was better based on what I told him I wanted. And for dessert, he really gave a great suggestion for the creme brulee! Thank you Shawn! Overall, I think the quality of food and service was well worth the price of everything, you truly get what you pay for. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a romantic dinner or a special occasion.
