Highly recommended place!!! this beautiful restaurant with such a friendly service, it was late at night and I called to ask them if they have Ramen they said absolutely we do!

As soon as we come inside we could feel the great vibe and we felt so welcome great management and staff!!

My Chicken Ramen was 10/10 and the signature rolls were out of this world very fresh and delicious

I would definitely bring my family back!!!

On a late Sunday night, my sushi cravings were on fire, I was missing Japan and I had BY on my list to try for a long time now! The decor and the ambience were very soothing! My date and I enjoyed excellent service, great sushi and great conversations with the staff! We will both be back to this gem in our neighborhood!

This is an off the beaten path sushi restaurant that has great service, vibe, drinks….and obviously sushi. It’s been around for years and for a good reason. I was also wildly surprised and happy to see they do Happy Hour 7 days a week, hopefully you’ll get Lina as your bartender because she’s amazing. If you haven’t been here you’re missing out.

To say that this restaurant has gone downhill would be a severe understatement. I don’t know if it’s new management or what, but this place is not what it once was. I’ve been eating here since the restaurant opened. It’s not what it once was. But I put up with it because it’s close by.

Tonight was the last time I’ll be ordering from Bamboo Ya. I ordered 2x Steak Teriyaki dishes, one in the form of a Bento Box and one combo plate. The food came missing multiple sides like the rice, the salad, and the soup that comes with the meal. The steak was bland and fatty to the point where I, for the first time in my life, turned down a steak dinner.

When I called, instead of rectifying my issue, they told me they’d send me a small side of rice and it took over 30 minutes to arrive (I’m a 3 minute drive away).

The sushi doesn’t taste fresh at all. The best part of the entire restaurant is their spicy mayo which is saying a lot. One of the most disappointing experiences I’ve had at a restaurant in a long time. There are plenty of other places to get Sushi on Austin St, do yourself a favor and branch out.

Such a great place. Showed up to meet friend for lunch. They were running late but I was sat at a great, cozy table in the back. Everything we got was delicious.

The scallion pancakes, sexy salmon roll, and some other dishes we are shared family style.

Definitely recommend! Very nice staff, and comfortable atmosphere.

I recommend this place. Here is why, the freshness and quality of the food, the variety of choices on the menu, the warm and attentive service, the relaxing atmosphere, the guys at the shushi bar prepare delicious and beautiful dishes.
The prices are reasonable.
Love Frankie, Maria and their team.

Such a great place for Japanese fusion food and their happy hour is great!! Amazing drinks at an affordable price. The blackberry margarita is amazing especially when made by Joana. Joana is the absolute sweetest and the rest of the staff is so hard working and very nice and accommodating. Joana makes sure you have an amazing experience and she’s so genuinely friendly and just the best overall. Please visit this place. You won’t regret it.

My friends and I ( group of 4 ) came here last minute near closing time. Despite our late entrance we were warmly greeted by staff members.

While being escorted to the back it was nice to see many of the artifacts posted around the restaurant i.g the boat hanging from the ceiling.

Our waiter took the due diligence to provide recommendations and answer our questions.

Food was served quick and fresh. I loved the taste of my entree and dipped my chopsticks into my friend’s cuisines as well.

Portion sizes were large and several of us brought food home.

My family and I came here after my daughter mentioned she was craving sushi. We were lucky to find parking close to the restaurant. At first, the place seemed small, and we thought we’d have to wait a while to be seated. However, as soon as we walked in, a woman greeted us and asked how many people were in our party. We told her four, and she quickly said, “Walk towards the back and take a seat, I’ll come to you in a moment.” We followed her instructions, passing the kitchen and entering a larger seating area in the back.

We sat down, and shortly after, she came to take our order and brought our drinks. She mentioned that the appetizers would be out soon. For appetizers, we had crispy calamari and shumai. The calamari was a bit chewy, but still fine.

For the main course, we had shrimp fried rice, a chicken teriyaki dinner bento, and several sushi rolls: salmon tempura, tuna special roll, snow white roll, and sexy salmon roll. The sushi came out on a boat, with about eight pieces per roll. It was a lot more food than we expected! The bento and shrimp fried rice were both so filling that we had enough leftovers for lunch the next day.

I ordered an alcoholic drink called a Moscow Mule, but it was quite strong for my taste. I mentioned it to the waitress, and she kindly brought me ginger ale to mix it to my liking. My husband ordered a drink as well, but unfortunately, it never arrived, even after we reminded her.

For dessert, we had fried ice cream—one vanilla and one chocolate. Despite being full, we somehow managed to finish it because it was absolutely delicious.

When we asked for the bill, the waitress told us we received a 10% discount due to the holiday (we went just before New Year’s).
