It wasn’t until 2016 that our second location was opened, nestled in one of Boston’s most sought after destinations, the Back Bay. After a day of boutique shopping and art gallery perusing, enjoy a cocktail on our patio before a stroll in Frieda Garcia Park. Walking distance from countless hotels, Copley Square, and local attractions, the Boston Toast is the perfect place to dine for vacationers and locals alike.

Trendy hangout serving all-day breakfasts in quirky surroundings, with vegan options.

Beyond impressed- the food here is SO GOOD! Short wait for a seat , cute downstairs seating like a speakeasy, incredibly varied menu options (unique and enticing), vegan options which was a nice surprise! I’m not vegan but don’t eat red meat and the vegan sausage was absolutely delicious as a replacement pairing with my Monte Madame which usually comes with ham. My partner had the Gochujang Fried Chicken Sandwich and it was out of this world. The flavors are just astounding. Service was great, Nicole was friendly and efficient! Just an amazing place to go!

I stopped in solo with no reservation and was seated at the bar in what felt like the basement level of the restaurant. Perfectly fine setup, but I would’ve much preferred some natural light; especially for a breakfast spot that leans so hard into its vibe.
I ordered the Breakfast Burrito, packed with scrambled eggs, jalapeño-jack, tater tots, black beans, fire-roasted poblano corn, pico de gallo, chipotle sauce, and crumbled chorizo. Credit where it’s due: the food was excellent. Well-seasoned, hearty, and exactly the kind of indulgent breakfast you hope for when you order something this loaded.
Service was just okay. I was forgotten about for a bit, though the free coffee was a nice recovery. Overall, the meal carried the experience more than the atmosphere or service. It’s good food, no doubt, but given the hype surrounding this place, it didn’t quite live up to expectations. I’d return for the burrito, but next time I’d aim for a seat upstairs with some daylight.

Steak omelet was very tasty. Breakfast Burrito was so so due to soggy tortilla skin. Ambience was friendly and service was superb. Would be better if they upgraded their plastic plates.

The Friendly Toast is a must-visit tradition for us every year before a big corporate event, and it never disappoints. The food is consistently amazing, with creative dishes that actually live up to the hype. The atmosphere is fun, energetic, and the perfect way to kick off a busy day. It’s become a staple for a reason—reliable, memorable, and always a great experience.

I went in September, but I’m just now getting around to write this review!

First off, shout out to Vanel, my server! He was friendly, attentive, and just overall a positive vibe to have for brunch! I sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful sun on a semi-chilly day.

Food ordered: mimosa flight, blueberry pancake, breakfast eggrolls, an ‘appley every after mimosa, and one other drink but I don’t recall. ALL were delicious and I recommend each of them.

A great brunch place I’d love to return to!

One meal here can easily set you back $40 (including the tip) which is ridiculous, but I can’t lie, this place lives up to the hype. I loved every bite of my food. Even though I’m not a fan of pancakes, I devoured them because they were so delicious! The pancakes were nice and golden with the crispy edges on the outside and fluffy softness on the inside. They were flavorful as well! I loved being able to taste the vanilla. I always thought that I didn’t like home fries until today. These were the first home fries I’ve ever loved! No complaints about the eggs either I loved that they were generous with the cheddar cheese on top. I wouldn’t order the cinnamon toast latte again because it just tastes like milk, coffee, and cinnamon-that’s all. It could’ve used way more flavor and cereal on top or even on the side.

S/o to my waitress Kenia who was very sweet!

Just a heads up: the wait was about 45 minutes to be seated. It’s worth it and I look forward to coming back to try more on their menu. This a really cutesy summer spot ☀️

This was my first time in Boston and after a long flight I was starving! They did not disappoint. I ordered the “Northern Attitude Breakfast” which I loved, especially the pancakes. The atmosphere was lively and busy on a Tuesday late morning. Our waiter was helpful with suggestions, telling us the seasonal items, and super attentive. I would come back here.

OK but I don’t understand why this place is so popular. Came here on a Saturday morning around 8 AM and found it to be already packed. The waitress was very friendly and the food average. We waited quite a bit of time before we got our food. They were very efficient seating everyone and when we left, there were people waiting outside to be seated. I have to rate low on the funky smell in the bar area downstairs; it smelled halfway between cleaning solution and grease. It’s like they tried to clean by just throwing on cleaning solution without scrubbing and rinsing with water. The smell definitely impinged on my enjoyment.

10/10 would recommend! We came in around 10am on a Thursday and were able to park on the street right outside. We were seated almost immediately upon arrival.

Nate was our server and they were fantastic! My gluten allergy was taken seriously and I felt confident about the food I was served. Not to mention…..the GF chocolate chip pancakes were amazing!!

We will definitely be back the next time we visit Boston. Thanks for such a great experience!
